Thunderhog Mk.IV (L-01-03-V)

Description
History:
The history of the Thunderhog series is well-known. A troubling start paving the way for a new chassis that became the mainstay craft of all Xebon planetary missions.

But this was all history, and the time had come for a more modern craft. For this attempt the engineers at Larson Engineering returned to the drawing board. The goal was to create a new atmospheric single-seater fighter craft that was small enough to be carried by more planetary vessels that the Xebon Navy fielded.

The original Thunderhogs were purely nuclear craft, being largely powered by a sole large reactor located in the heart of the craft. For this new craft a more redundant system and slightly greener system was considered. A series of small reactors worked in tandem with a pair of batteries to provide all the power needed for this craft. Damage was less likely to knock out the power to the whole vehicle, and thus made it safer for pilots.

Big air intakes were designed that scooped air in and over the internal components, aiding cooling. The complement of dumbfire rockets was uprated, though at the expensive of braking thrust. Testing found that a banking manoeuvre was best to slow the craft to landing speeds.

A camera was installed to allow the craft to provide longer-range fire support though the Thunderhog lost its ability to support SAR missions due to an inability to install a spotlight.

The new craft was designated the Thunderhog Mk.IV. A worthy successor that took everything learnt from the Lancer program and combined it with the history behind the earlier Thunderhogs to create something truly special.

@bpdenverco It's not a mod it's a blueprint. When you are in a creative game you can use F10 to open your blueprint menu. This should be somewhere near the bottom.
