OKI Ground Warfare ver. 2.0

Description
!!! OUTDATED !!!


Second itteration of the ground warfare world. It is set up around planetary assault of a large pirate base by local military forces.

Pirate base is heavily defended and is guarded by a great variety of drones which are constantly being spawned by multiple drone bays (game limitation is 5 drones though).

Player forces include 2 dropships loaded with different ground vehicles and aircrafts, 2 gunships and a medical ship.

World is public multiplayer for up to 16 people. Survival. With preset trash removal running in the background (removes unpowered grids with less than 1000 blocks).

No scripts, no events. Just pure battle.


Starting the adventure

There is a faction called OKI (Okim Industries). Join it and respawn at Medical Drop Pod.
Once spawned in the action will probably be already in motion - pirate drones are pretty well aware of intrusion and will attempt to swart your forces from their planet.

Be quick to grab some gear and run to one of the dropships or gunships to help defend the area. Your dropships can handle a few of the waves, but will eventually be hammered down by stray missiles or smth nastier!

You`ll see 5 antenna contacts of your faction and one pirate. Pirate one is the location of the base.
Your faction contacts are:
- Medical Drop Pod (where you spawn!).
- Dropship "Alpha" - tank carrier. Has a switched off survival kit for spawning.
- Dropship "Beta" - aircraft carrier. Has a switched off survival kit for spawning.
- Gunship (large grid aircraft with deadly weapons, but light armor).
- Gunship (both are similar in design).

Get into one of the tanks, aircrafts or gunships (or dropships, actually!) and fight!

Enemy forces

Enemy base itself is pretty well defended. There is a huge single installation in the middle of a crater that is dotted with multitude of mixed weapons - from air defence gatlings to anti capital ship 230mm batteries of OKI mod.

There are also some autonomous forts and towers around the base that also have 230mm batteries.

Base and some craters in the vicinity have special drone spawners that look like launch bays. These spawn drones of 4 different sizes - tiny, standard, large and massive. The later are large grid vessels capable of blasting your forces alone!

Tips

Target 230mm turret enplacements first. They cannot lock on small grid vessels, so are vulnerable to your tanks and fighters.

Do not underestimate crawlers. While slow and relatively lightly armed - they can withstand MUCH more punishment than fighters. A single tank can distract drones and turrets for a very long time for other forces to act unimpeded.

Push with your AA tanks towards the base. Their guns will tear tiny drones (which are the main combat force of the enemy) with ease and provide your other forces some cover from missiles.

Locate and destroy launch bay that spawns massive bots. It is hidden in some of the craters near the main base. If a bot of that type spawns it will bring a lot of trouble!

Your Gunships are neat against structures, but a single enemy 230mm battery will blew it up easily. So, take the first advice seriously before deploying gunships! Once all heavy defences are silenced - you can mop the remaining turrets and base itself with the gunships easily by outranging them with the 230mm battlecannon.

HAVE FUN!

Changes in ver. 2.0:

- added a large amount of spare parts and ammo to both dropships to provide players with an ability to repair and rearm their vehicles. Both dropships also have rifles, tools and bottles necessary for survival.
- replaces main facility`s 230mm battlecannon batteries (those with 3 barrels) with 230mm battlecannons (1 barrel). The initial spam of 230mm weapons was a bit of an overkill.
- replaced drone spawners at the base. Made a massive drone spawner to properly spawn large grid bots.
- fixed some bots being unable to lift off and crawls on the ground.

This one is a bit broken since i`ve changed some dependancies for drones and antena names.

For some reason there are only 5 drones active at any given time... Limiting the variety to smaller and more frequent enemies.

Awesome job. This looks like a lot of fun! You really put a lot of time and effort into your mods and worlds, and it shows. I will have to try this out. Thanks!
