This mod greately improves the performance of the game (speed & smoothness), gameplay authenticity (level of challenge, logical and closer to realistic outcomes) & AI Behavior (more human player-like)

With this mod, HRE is actually created in early dates. There are no bordergore, megablob AI empires, and the game produces very plausible scenarios in a very nice, beautifully bordered world which finally makes sense. AI behavior is more like a player and makes much more sense, it will no longer trigger WTF? moments. There are no hard restrictions players or AI can't bypass, so anything is still possible, but much-much more difficult to achieve. Therefore this mod provides a much bigger challenge to human players who dream of world conquest.

This mod is a must-have for Paradox megacampaigns (CK-EU-VIC-HOI) because the improved performance of the game makes it much easier to finish your save, especially in 769-1444 timeframe and the improved authenticity enables creation of realistic,balanced and interesting scenarios to export into EUIV and enjoy playing! One of the main ways i used to balance the mod is to ensure that realm power distrubution in the long-run resembles EUIV start dates with a reasonable degree of randomness.

List of Key Changes:

Realm Management:
-Rebalanced Feudals: Realm management much more challenging, powerful vassals are very annoying unless dealt with
-Rebalanced Tribals: No more blobbing, nerfed vassal levy control, big tribes breakaway
-Rebalanced Nomads: No more blobbing, no vassal levy access
-Completely reworked independence factions, main factors are: (Culture, Religion, Realm Size, Distance to Capital, Opinion, Vassal limit)
-Completely reworked Realm obligations - no more sliders, only static. (Much better game balance)
-Decreased demesne & vassal limit sizes
-Increased council discontent period
-AI more likely to join factions
-Increased title creation costs
-Significantly reworked game economy in all directions to make gold a reasonably scarce resource. (Increased building costs, adjusted tax incomes and their scaling)
-Much better game balance between different religions, cultures & government types. No more onesided steamrolling.

AI:
-More realistic and player-like decision making in many aspects
-Improved performance optimisation
-Reworked technology levels to be more impactful
-Custom realms are created more often
-Improved global character population management
-The level of challenge for the player is significantly higher

Military:
-Reworked many cassus belli to make AI wage wars much smarter
-Reworked retinue sizes & costs
-Reworked levy & vassal levy contribution sizes (static obligations) & Nomad population
-Reworked tribal vassal levy control
-Buffed capital counties of independent realms
-Increased kill count of pursuits

Other:
-Multiple many other little changes & tweaks to different parameters to make gameplay as authentic as possible

still works, did 769 start as byzantine sicily and it looked significantly better in europe. it still had the usual suspects retaining their empires but atleast there were some splinters and they tended to be weaker and got into conflicts and civil wars more.

@lord vyse more interactive vassals and clever ai but you have to remove character interactions in clever ai or it wont work

This is look's good but for me letting ai control their own levy was fun and made it so i couldn't purge my realm wen ever I wanted to and i actually had to watch their opinion of me

Seems nice but why can't I do subjugation or Conquest wars as a Pagan Tribal? Do I have to fabricate a claim?
