Unit Historical Accuracy Tweak Mod

Description
This mod accomplishes the following to sengoku jidai:
- NO MORE PROJECTILE TRAILS YAAAY
- added smoke to parrot guns, since a patch in late FOTS bug removed it
- adds option to recruit loan sword ashigaru
- adds visual variety to samurai and hero units ( in accordance with research I have done)
- adjusts samurai stats to make them more capable and valuable units
- increased samurai recruitment price proportionally and reduced recruitment times to one turn for most non hero samurai (all to prevent early game spamming, yet stil allow for reasonable attainability)
- no-dachi have a slight cavalry bonus (not overly apparent as it is with spear - men, but slight). Historically, though not as effecient as a spear or naginata, the no-dachi was still somewhat of an anticavalry weapon, with some records depicting samurai slicing an entire horse's head clean from its body ( will add direct quote soon).

IF THERE ARE ANY REQUESTS ON OTHER IMPROVMENTS OR CHANGES, BOTH VISUAL AND GAMEPLAY BASED, LET ME KNOW OR SIMPLY COMMENT, AND, IF REASONABLE, I WILL APPLY SAID REQUESTS

Starting to create a list of REFERENCES, since I tire of rebuttling negative comments by opinionated players. Granted, my mod still may be off here and there, but I am using solid guidelines, and the tools that I have available:
- War in the early modern world, Jeremy Black, Taylor & Francis, 1999
- Samurai Armies 1467-1649, Author Stephen Turnbull, Publisher Osprey Publishing, 2008
- Ashigaru 1467-1649, Stephen Turnbull, Howard Gerrard, Osprey Publishing, 2001
- Louis, Thomas; Ito, Tommy (2006). Samurai: The Code of the Warrior. New York: Sterling Publishing Co
- Sinclaire, Clive (2004). Samurai: The Weapons and Spirit of the Japanese Warrior. Globe Pequot Press.

Note that I prefer mods that do not deviate too much from the main gameplay, but make little tweaks here and there to improve it. Once in a while I will release a total overhaul (for example, I am working on adding more playable factions, editing the banners to be more accurate as to the historical clan, editing existing daimyo armor sets to be more historical, and attempting to bring in victory condition options that exceed a simple military goal - stay tuned for more information).

This is my first mod I have released, so there might be bugs I am unaware of; let me know in the comments and I will attempt to fix them. I plan on releasing alternative versions and improving the main version in the future. In game pictures to come.

update 08/11/2013 - PROJECTILE TRAILS REMOVED. Some Boshin era research times were reduced.
- increased price of samurai in sengoku jidai period by another 100 since ai was still spamming samurai in early game, and to balance out reduced recruitment times.
- changed effect of an upstart general to increase loyalty rather than decrease ( you just made him a 'freaking general', I think he is grateful...)
- left some trails in for fragments of explosions to help aid in the look of 'firey pieces flying out', etc
- a second version of this mod, called UNIT HISTORICAL ACCURACY TWEAK W/OUT UNIT VAR TWEAK will be release to choose an option that does not involve the graphical variation changes made to the sengoku jidai era units: this was done since the visual modifications slows down computer performance, due to the order in which files are compiled in the game (first normal data , then mods), which causes the game to essentially compile the graphics twice, which explains the decreased performance (this is from my understand, if anyone knows a more accurate reason why, please comment or message and I will update).

update 08/08/2013 4:45PM - do not know how to change the physical file name due to the limited mod manager capabilities, though this version is technically UnitRedoMod_1.1 even though it says 1.0:
Made the following changes:
- re adjusted naginata samurai stats
- increased all samurai melee prowess (in Boshin era)
- increased republican guard melee prowess, since it was below that of basic sabre cavalry ( it is supposed to be an elite unit)
- various minor boshin era tweaks (such as making certain faction specific units more capable)
- slightly increased melee capability of white tiger force, since historically, the white tigers were composed of many young samurai with more training than an average levy in both marksmanship and melee
- reduced research times for first few tiers of technologies in sengoku jidai by 1-2 turns each

08/08/2013 - current version UnitRedoMod_1.0

Is this compatable with darthmod and other unit packs? I wouldnt want to add a bunch of underpowered units to the game.

I love the mod, however I'm currently doing an Otomo LP. However their units seem to be have removed as any matchlock unit they have has a blank name, and the faction cannot be used in custom battle at all.
Tl;DR fix compatibility with otomo dlc pls

Hey Alexandros! I want to comment that I am really enjoying your entertained mod. But there seems to be a problem... I think the mod is interfering with the Otomo DLC, where that faction becomes unplayable in custom battles. I know there is this exact issue iwth the 12TPS mod, but the problem seems to continue even after I disinstalled that mod. I tested only with this mod on, and it has the exact same problem. Any thoughts to this? Thanks!

i agree Japanese morale is too low in this total war game. The Japanese fought to the very last man more often than not.

Everything works in my game, but I have a question. Are Katana Kachi unaffected by the reduced recruitment times? Because they still take two turns to recruit.
