解説

Replace all L4D1 Survivor The Passing Chapter voiceline (except bill) with their
L4D Arcade Japanese Dub

Install Instruction

1. Make backup of this files

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc1\sound\player\survivor\voice\biker)

and

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc1\sound\player\survivor\voice\manager)

and

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc1\sound\player\survivor\voice\teengirl)

2. Install GCFscape Download [gamebanana.com]

3. Open GCFscape, navigate to this vpk

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop\1678140031.vpk)

(Might need to restart Left 4 Dead 2 and let it download for it to appear)

4. Extract and replace all files to

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc1\sound\player\survivor\voice\biker)

and

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc1\sound\player\survivor\voice\manager)

and

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc1\sound\player\survivor\voice\teengirl)

5. Open Left 4 Dead 2 and open console by pressing ~

(Enable dev console first by pressing Options->Keyboard/Mouse->Allow Developer Console-Enable)

then type "snd_rebuildaudiocache;snd_updateaudiocache;quit" without quote

-Game should quit automatically after it finished rebuilding the audiocache
should be around 3 to 5 minute depending on your computer spec.

6. Done. Now all the L4D1 Survivor will have their Japanese dub

Uninstalling

Unsubscribe and simply restore the backup you've made and open the console ~ then type "snd_rebuildaudiocache;snd_updateaudiocache;quit"

You can also restore the original sound by going to your

Steam Client->Library->Games->Right click Left 4 Dead 2->Properties->Local Files->Verify Integrity of Games files.

I take no credit for these as I simply copy and paste.

Note - This only replace L4D1 survivor voices in The Passing Chapter only

*Apparently this does work on vanilla L4D1 campaign but with mixed English/Japanese audio

Restore the files back if you dont want to hear Japanese audio when playing L4D1 campaign

*Some English voice can still be heard and I don't know how to fix that.

**Temporary Workaround if you dont want to hear any English dialogue**
1.Create a new folder name backup inside

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc2\sound\player\survivor\voice

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc3\sound\player\survivor\voice

2.Move all folders there to your backup folder.

3.Rename the original sound.cache to _sound.cache from

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc2\sound

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc3\sound

This is done to avoid having to rebuild the sound.cache everytime you want to play the passing without chipmunk/screeching noise

4.Open console type "snd_rebuildaudiocache;snd_updateaudiocache;quit"

5.Play The Passing or any Left 4 Dead 2 campaign.

6.Restore if you want to play Left 4 Dead 1 campaign or you won't be able to hear any original dialogue from L4D1 Survivor. Don't forget to rename back the original sound.cache and keep the new sound.cache as a different name so you don't have to do step 4.

Does anybody know who the voice actors who did the dubbing of these characters? I'd like to know who Louis' seiyuu is :D

@LunaRadeon If you use both mod it should work. But there will be multiple/mixed voice for Zoey. One for Sara and one for the Japanese dubbed Zoey. So use only one mod if you dont want to hear them mixed.

let say i wanna put sara voice replace only zoey and i install the mod and i follow the install Instruction will it still work and plays JAP(Zoey voice)?
