Description
Blackrock Mountain is actually a volcano that was unnaturally created at the end of the Dwarven War of the Three Hammers. In an attempt to end the war, the Lord of the Dark Iron Dwarves, the Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan accidentally summoned the Firelord Ragnaros. The surge of heat scorched the earth of the surrounding area black, destroying everything in a wide berth and creating the Searing Gorge and the Burning Steppes, as well as creating Blackrock Mountain. Ragnaros himself enslaved the Dark Irons. During the orcish invasion of Azeroth and the First and Second Wars, Blackrock spire served as the headquarters of orcish forces, though the internal power struggles between orcish clans and the presence of the dark irons meant there was no true master of the mountain. Eventually, the back wyrn Nefarian also made his lair here atop Blackrock Spire, the top of the mountain, adding to the power struggle. During the events of vanilla World of Warcraft, adventurers can delve into the depths of Blackrock Mountain and fight off the many inhabitants. In Blackrock Depths lie the Dark Iron Dwarven city. The Blackrock clan of orcs reside in Lower Blackrock Spire, while the leader of the Blackrock, Rend Blackhand, is in Upper Blackrock Spire. Along with him are many Black Dragonkin in league with Nefarian, who nests and schemes in Blackwing Lair. He feuds for control of the mountain against Ragnaros the Firelord, the prime fire elemental residing in the Molten Core deep in the heart of the volcano.

Recorded in World of Warcraft at 30 FPS and optimized to keep filesize reasonably low.

My thanks to Rucus, without him this footage wouldn't be possible! Let's enjoy vanilla World of Warcraft Classic!
