Uranium On Planets Again

Description
This only works with Vanilla game Planets.

Simple and straight forward, returns Uranium ore spawns to planets (and moons), like how they where in previous space engineers versions. For those that of us that don't like being forced into a no Uranium planets challenge. Changes nothing else but return Uranium spawns.

Downside of this is Keen replaced all the Uranium spawns with ice, so means less ice mixed in with ores then with the current ore spawns.

This works in current saves as well, only issue might be ore deposits you've already mined into.

@Updated to support Trition.

@Updated to support Pertam 11-28-2020.

@updated for the Apex Update 9-22-2025

I've also made two more version of the mod.
Want Uranium on the Planets and Moon but deeper so it's harder to find? Uranium On Planets Again - Deep:

Want uranium on Moons only? Uranium On Moons Again:

Want Uranium And Platinum On Planets? Uranium And Platinum On Planets:

If you want a mod that add Uranium but makes it harder to find, plus modifies wind values to be more realistic, as well as other changes I'd recommend Nikolas Marchs mod:

Ahh, I gotcha - thanks for looking into it! I'll keep poking around on my end then.

Nah those are the default setting, I just changed the ore entries back to Uranium, for Deep mod I replace ore entries that tend to spawn ores deeper with uranium, but left the depths the same. I'm not knowledgeable enough to change those reliably and that mod like that and the many others were made at the request of others, i never use them expect when I test them. I only use this mod personally.

Just for giggles, and I'll note this was just on a whim, I checked the PlanetGeneratorDefinitions.sbc file for both Uranium On Planets Again and the Uranium On Planets Again - Deep mods, and it looked like the depth values for the <OreMappings> section were the same - is this supposed to be the case? I.e. in both .sbc files, it showed <Ore Value="200" Type="Iron_02" Start="3" Depth="7" TargetColor="#616c83" ColorInfluence="15"/>.

I might just be reading this wrong and it's intended, but would you be able to double check if the 'deep' ore values was copied over to the 'non deep' version?

And if I'm just misreading this, I apologize.

I started a test world with just Azumuth overpowered ore detectors with the mod and found uranium in a similar location to my normal world. I've found you have to keep the ore detector to like 1km or if breaks and doesn't work well. Try this GPS and see if you find uranium near it.

I'm on Earthlike - I was able to toss a cheaty-range ore detector onto my ship and it looks like most ores are around 800m-1k down at least when they didn't seem to be that deep before - though maybe I'm misremembering? Does that sound correct for normal spawns?

Which planet are you on? I check all the planets before the release since I have ore detector outposts on all the planets in my test world.

Not sure if it could just be some really odd RNG, but so far using this on a new save since the update, I'm only seeing silicon ore deposits. Just wanted to mention it, as noted it could just be really odd RNG or something.
