1) I can't really stop people doing this but I don't mind rewarding them being crafty!
2) Thanks - I fixed that last night so should be gone for anyone starting a new map.
3) There isn't really anything I can do to stop the giants wandering which is why I added 8. I kinda like how it changes each play-through and different routes become better than others.
4) Good idea, I'll try this out for the extra hard difficulty when I get time to add it in :)
5) Thanks!
6) Manually repairing houses is a bug that I need the devs to fix but I agree it is annoying.
7) I wanted the technology to build throughout the campaign rather than starting from scratch for every map, but maybe for the extra hard difficulty I can have Smith "lose" the blueprints!
8) I'll try that for the extra hard difficulty :D
Thanks again for the suggestions. I’ll look to test your ideas when I go back and add to each map for anyone wanting to play them again (or for the first time)!
@sunnydance - thanks for all the detailed feedback! I will indeed piece together these maps as a proper campaign once I can. I'll also go through them and add a bit more detail when new assets are out and add an extra hard difficulty to the X versions (I did this as a test in 8X). I have limited time to make/test maps so I try and cater for the majority but will go back and add more when I can. I'll answer your other points in a separate post as my reply is also >1000 characters!
1) Some buildings can be demolished to get resources(horse hill, Gatwick etc). Intended? To make it harder on the X-map remove the possibility to do that.
2) The Canary Warf (building that makes all units elite) has been placed twice, nearly on top of each other. Intended?
3) There is no need to kill all giants. Intended? Maybe that should be a must on hard?
4) To make it harder, add Chubbies to the constant mini waves after day 10 or so.
5) Really love the mini bonusses the special buildings give. Another way to draw the player in. Well done.
6) The houses getting infected is fun, but annoying at the same time. Having to manually search and repair them is not a fun chore imo. I'd say let it start way earlier on the X-map, but remove the manual repair need.
7) Idea to make Xmap harder; not grant all techs, especially the farm & ballista.
8) Another idea; Ava and McC must reach the base in 2 days. Put the pressure on! :)
Anyway just some remarks/thoughts.
Sunny
Loved the map. It is very well made. You can tell you've spent a lot of time making it and that you've got an eye for detail. The story is great too as many already said. It really drags you into the game and makes you care about about the characters.
I thought this map was reasonably difficult. I tend to lose myself in micro management and forget the overall picture, basically making me act slower as I focus on one thing at a time. I guess for people who can manage it better the map is not super easy, but not really hard either.
Hope you will create the campaign as a whole once they release the campaign tools as they said they would. This would easily be the no1 campaign out there.
Thanks a lot for making it and sharing it with all of us.
Sunny
PS: Some initial remarks in a separate post as can only fit so many characters in these replies :)
@Killmame - lovely feedback thank you! It will be 10 days from now until the final phase :)
@Swat__Raptor - well played, I think ramping up the economy helps speed up the process!
Thanks again for this amazing adventure !
