Description
This is the same map as Phase 11 but much much harder…

Please note that is map has a very long load time due to the large number of entities and scripts.

It has now been one year since Kirkwall first expanded onto the mainland. Smith and his army has re-taken and strengthened the mainland colonies and decides to clear the south-east before tackling the last infected stronghold on the mainland: London. Unaware of this, Ava and McCauley leave the events of Wales behind them and travel to London from the west. There they hope to destroy a Controller Tower before setting sail for Caliban on the Isle of Wight…

Difficulty: Nightmare - Recommended for players who play 500%+. Within 7 days you must get Ava and McCauley back to the Command Center where Smith and his Titan have arrived. At the same time you must build and defend the colony from smaller waves every 4 hours and large waves every 5 – 7 days. To win all you have to do is destroy the Capital Class Control Tower (Spire). To add pressure, on day 70 your colony will start getting infected. Typically takes 60+ days to achieve as you have to balance your defences and offensives at the same time whilst balancing the economy. There are 8 giants defending the objective which wander so the number you have to kill depends on the route you wish to take.

To answer other points:

1) I can't really stop people doing this but I don't mind rewarding them being crafty!
2) Thanks - I fixed that last night so should be gone for anyone starting a new map.
3) There isn't really anything I can do to stop the giants wandering which is why I added 8. I kinda like how it changes each play-through and different routes become better than others.
4) Good idea, I'll try this out for the extra hard difficulty when I get time to add it in :)
5) Thanks!
6) Manually repairing houses is a bug that I need the devs to fix but I agree it is annoying.
7) I wanted the technology to build throughout the campaign rather than starting from scratch for every map, but maybe for the extra hard difficulty I can have Smith "lose" the blueprints!
8) I'll try that for the extra hard difficulty :D

Thanks again for the suggestions. I’ll look to test your ideas when I go back and add to each map for anyone wanting to play them again (or for the first time)!

@pechi21 - thanks, there's one more map in the campaign then I'm taking a break but hopefully the official campaign will be out soon!

@sunnydance - thanks for all the detailed feedback! I will indeed piece together these maps as a proper campaign once I can. I'll also go through them and add a bit more detail when new assets are out and add an extra hard difficulty to the X versions (I did this as a test in 8X). I have limited time to make/test maps so I try and cater for the majority but will go back and add more when I can. I'll answer your other points in a separate post as my reply is also >1000 characters!

This is a great fucking map! You really put some effort on this and I hope you continue to do more. Really love them. Great job.

Some thoughts/remarks:
1) Some buildings can be demolished to get resources(horse hill, Gatwick etc). Intended? To make it harder on the X-map remove the possibility to do that.
2) The Canary Warf (building that makes all units elite) has been placed twice, nearly on top of each other. Intended?
3) There is no need to kill all giants. Intended? Maybe that should be a must on hard?
4) To make it harder, add Chubbies to the constant mini waves after day 10 or so.
5) Really love the mini bonusses the special buildings give. Another way to draw the player in. Well done.
6) The houses getting infected is fun, but annoying at the same time. Having to manually search and repair them is not a fun chore imo. I'd say let it start way earlier on the X-map, but remove the manual repair need.
7) Idea to make Xmap harder; not grant all techs, especially the farm & ballista.
8) Another idea; Ava and McC must reach the base in 2 days. Put the pressure on! :)

Anyway just some remarks/thoughts.

Hey POB,

Loved the map. It is very well made. You can tell you've spent a lot of time making it and that you've got an eye for detail. The story is great too as many already said. It really drags you into the game and makes you care about about the characters.

I thought this map was reasonably difficult. I tend to lose myself in micro management and forget the overall picture, basically making me act slower as I focus on one thing at a time. I guess for people who can manage it better the map is not super easy, but not really hard either.

Hope you will create the campaign as a whole once they release the campaign tools as they said they would. This would easily be the no1 campaign out there.

Thanks a lot for making it and sharing it with all of us.
Sunny

PS: Some initial remarks in a separate post as can only fit so many characters in these replies :)

@Arlague - glad you enjoyed the map! It seems everyone is far better playing my own map than me as I really struggled! On day 75 the colony starts getting infected on day 85 is a huge wave which brings everything on the map with it. So if you defend against all of that it leaves you with a clear path to the tower.

@Killmame - lovely feedback thank you! It will be 10 days from now until the final phase :)

@Swat__Raptor - well played, I think ramping up the economy helps speed up the process!

Yea I completed it around day 52, only had to clear 4 giants, I was focusing on ramping my economy up at that point and had 3 separate army stacks at that point so was playing somewhat cautious. Overall great map, great detail.

I just want to say that I have been greatly enjoying these maps. I love that it has actual lore in it, it really adds to the experience. I've actually been checking regularly to see when the next updates come out! Thank you!

It's always a pleasure to play those maps. This one was my favorite so far. However, I did it in 40 days. I though it would take way more time to take down the giant, but it wasn't that hard. Is there something special if you wait 85 days and don't destroy the tower? . The choke point makes it easier to handle all those waves and it feels really comfortable to play the map.

Thanks again for this amazing adventure !
