Help us find crashes - How to switch to the DEBUG branch

We've been hearing about many crash reports while loading the game, and they seem to have some common denominators:

1. Verify the files through steam ( library right click on heat > properties > local files > verify integrity of cache).

2. Check that you have not disabled your windows page file (we recommend setting it to automatic).

3. Install the latest graphics card drivers for your graphics card.

4. Please try unplugging the USB headset, then restarting computer with it unplugged. And loading up the game. Please let us know if that helped in anyway.

Please try these steps to see if it works for you. We are looking into why this is an issue.

If they do not work, please follow the steps below:

Email Us at support@codehatch.com with a header "Heat Crash Report" - Your full system specs and hardware (mouse, keyboard, headset) and exactly what part of the game gives the crash (as much detail as possible). Then, please join the debug branch, run the debug version of the game, then after the crash, attach the full crash report to the email.

How to enable the DEBUG branch for crash logging

Warning - this will slow the game down as it enables full script logging, the purpose here is to collect information for crashing during startup, loading, and during gameplay.

if you experience crashes at these times, opting in and sending us the reports will help us adress these issues.

Step 1, go to Heat in steam libary 
Step 2 Right click on Heat and go to Properties 
Step 3, In Properties, go to the 4th tab called "BETAS" 
Step 4, Enter the beta code ,DO NOT PRESS ENTER, CLICK CHECK CODE 
Step 5, Switch to the branch and download 
Step 6, Sending us the logs

There should now be a message under where you put the code in saying " Access code correct, private beta "debug" is now available
Step 5, Switch to the branch and download
Now that you unlocked the beta branch, the dropdown menu should list debug

Select Debug and close the properties window




Steam should now start the download and Heat will say in brackets Debug
if steam doesn't download it automatically, try restarting steam

Step 6, Sending us the logs
When a crash occurs, a new folder will be placed in the Heat data folder, its name will be a timestamp:

The most important of these files is the outputlog.txt

amazing how code hatch can offer nothing on this launcher error error code 13. i have followed all of the steps listed above and have not resolved the issue. come Ch tell us how to fix error code 13 ffs!!!!!!!!!

I keep getting crashes

hey with the new update (alpha 14) i cant even launch the game anymore... i have 200 hrs played in this game but all of a sudden i cant launch it no more.. the EAC will pop up before launching the game and that bar goes all the way to 100 percent then tells me i have an application error (error code 13) any ideas on how to fix this??

it is not a crash just an annoyance, my 0 hot key keeps trying to move in with my 2 hot key which makes my 2 key useless till i relog in

Clearing localnow / code hatch files fixed all bugs most of times ;)
