Battlezone: The People's Dragon

Omschrijving
First released in 2013 for Battlezone 1.4 alongside Omega Squadron, this clever campaign will put your skills to the test, surprise you with unique objectives, and reward your perseverance. The People's Dragon has returned, fully updated for BZR!

FEATURES
You are a member of the People's Dragon- a small Chinese Red Army platoon deployed in an attempt to assault NSDF emplacements around the solar system and extend Chinese influence in the war for the Bio-Metal. Make incursions beyond Ganymede and Elysium in this gritty 8-mission campaign!

Play as a new faction: The People's Dragon. An elite platoon of second-wave Chinese conscripts to the CRA, these pilots are tasked with the ultimate challenge: undercutting NSDF and CCA installations in the core of the solar system to turn the tide in favor of the CRA in the Bio-Metal wars. Latecomers to this conflict, Dragon craft are equipped with the latest and the best weapon systems and craft load-outs. You won't always have Dragon configurations at your disposal, but when you do be sure to make the most of it!

1) Subscribe to download
2) Start Battlezone 98 Redux (The Red Odyssey is required!)
3) Select "Single Player"
4) Select "Custom Campaign"
5) Select "Battlezone: The People's Dragon"
6) Launch

Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.

as is, if you so much as aim a sniper rifle in the vague general direction of one, it segfaults

Well I knew they were daywalkers but didn't even attempt sniping and i doubt the average player would know the difference. That, and due to me running at 165 fps I had a literal deluge of AI to fend off to the point I couldn't even address the stupid daywalkers

That's admittedly my fault but at the same time, I did provide him with repaired scripts, as I said before, 2 years ago.

As for The Peoples' Dragon, I just couldn't bring myself to replace the classic janky "daywalkers" with legitimate armory-launched day wreckers but then I realized that though I could make it so pointing a sniper rifle anywhere near one doesn't crash the game, I'm not sure how to prevent the player from sniping a daywalker, lol.

Yeah it's a shame, some missions simply don't run or work without the fixed scripts.

I never did any further work on it because I couldn't decide how to handle the day wreckers in the final mission - and even if I did something, it'd still require Scrap Pool to actually upload them... which, in about 2 years, he hasn't done for Omega Squadron

Missions are great but lots of issues still with LUA.

I've been meaning to "Remaster" the scripts of this campaign but I can't bring myself to replace the janky "daywalkers" with actual "daywreckers"...

What that NSDF crates thing on first mission?

Any hints on completing the Day Wrecker mission? I can blow away the first two armories but I get overwhelmed by tanks which can track my every position on the map regardless of whether LoS is broken for any length of time.
