WoW Classic: Ironforge Commons

The Dwarven capital city of Ironforge was carved into the mountain range of Khaz Modan. In its early days, it was the home of most of dwarven-kind. However, during the War of the Three Hammers, the Bronzebeards, the Wildhammers, and the Dark Irons waged war for control of the city. Ultimately, it was the mountain dwarves, the Bronzebeards, that were victorious. Ironforge was beseiged by the Horde during the Second War, and quickly joined the Alliance once the seige was broken by Alliance forces. Because of this, Ironforge has become quite racially diverse. The dwarves graciously allowed the few surviving gnomes from the irradiation of the city of Gnomeregan, and the resulting addition of the Deeprun Tram allowed easy transport for humans to travel in from the human capital of Stormwind. The Commons serves as the economic center of Ironforge, housing the Auction House, the Bank, an inn, and a good portion of merchants.
