Description
For Stellaris 4.0.* no DLC required.
Compatible with:
  • 4.0.*
UI overhaul dynamic is recommended, but not needed.

This modification is meant to make space stations orbiting the sun, in other words outposts and upgraded variants, more durable and balanced around vanilia gameplay.
Since Overlord DLC came out, this modification also affects Orbital ring megastructures.
Considering recent release of Biogenesis, this modification also affects Deep Space Citadels

The effect of enhanced durability is achieved by:
  • Introduced new ship modules, which can only be fitted onto Orbital Rings, Starbases and Deep Space Citadels. They grant massive (roughly the triple of Large armor or shield) amounts of armor or shield and a bit of hull points,
  • Shield amount should be roughly the same of Armor value,
  • Reworked bonus hitpoints from offensive modules, they now give fixed amount instead of % bonus, alongside with utility slot increase on starbase. Which makes repeatable techs and edicts stronger. Due to a bug in Stellaris persisting over the many last patches I had to redo the way durability is achieved, by introducing completely new strabase exclusive utility items
  • Changed the way bonuses from defensive modules are applied to starbase making stacking with multiplicative instead of additive.
For a detailed information I urge You to visit mod discussion, and then selecting Changelog.

Hello,
Thank You for taking interest in my small modification,
I haven't updated this mod for Stellaris newest version (3.4) yet so that might be an issue.
I will try to find some time to update mod, hopefully in this month.

This mod somehow breaks construction ships?

The only other file changing mods I have are ancient empires and gigastructures. When this mod is active, I am unable to build construction ships after the 3.4 update.

Have no idea what is going on, just thought it's worth bringing up.

Hope you fix this, I like this kind of minimalist mod :)

Hello,
I wasn't aware of this. Mod was updated, the 5.1.1 version now contains folder named "common" instead of "Common".
Please let me know, if there are other issues or the new update breaks something.
Thank You for pointing that out.

Please make your Common folder lowercase, capitalization breaks the mod on OSX and Linux

Sorry everyone for changing the name. It was by accident during update.

The mod has been briefly Tested, however I welcome any feedback.
I will be conducting more advanced tests to see, if I need to bring down damage output from low-level stations.

Unintended "feature" so far:
- Armor and shield bonus from station level counts twice. Solution - testing needed.

That's all for today. bai
