Info:
Just started playing the actual campaign (with the intent of beating it) and wanted to create a series of ships to progress through it. Starting out, I needed a miner in order to utilize the starting gear provided; this being due to the fact that the provided mining lasers are far more capable than what the drone has equipped.

Basic premise was a very agile and small ship to zip around the asteriods. It is not designed to be used for long and was only constructed for the sole purpose of collecting enough Iron for the creation of a far more stoic, combat-capable vessel.

The price was set to be as cheap as possible with a crew requirement of one. Additionally, it was to be automated via a captain; bringing its maximum required crew compliment to 6. This allowed it to mine in the starting system while I explored and/or acted elsewhere.

As for the design... it was a minimalistic setup with some added "flare". It can however be used as a figher blueprint and is 'happy' doing so, whatever its task.

After several minutes of collecting Iron and constructing my offical starter ship, it was provided a captain and left to mine for a time. After 5,000 iron was obtained, i tranferred the crew to my ships reserves and scrapped it.

Yeah, these smaller builds can be both simple and difficult at the same time. The block limitation definitely restricts certain aspects of what you can do visually. I started off with the thrusters first and after getting the functionality down, tried to make it look... better.

Truth be told, it's basically 3 blocks with two smaller blocks connecting them. Everything else is added flare. Get the functions you want first (cargo, thrusters, etc) and then work with the visual blocks to see what you can turn it into. It's rather rewarding really.

I'll say that it's been a while since I've played the game. But I still like seeing what others have come up with on the workshop.

I will try to build a small reasonable ship with little subsystems included, small place for cargo, dampers stabilzers etc etc I bet this will be quiet challenging to make this so nice like you do.

This is my new favorite starter ship for salvage / mining. The one thing I wish this design included would be to include a 2x2 turret block on the bottom center of the ship so that I can add 2 single slot miners to start, and then a single 2 slot miner when I get access to better tech before I switch to strip miners.
