Use Neon, Neon RGB and Precious skins without purchasing them
By Eldin and 1 collaborators
This is part 2 of my Use all weapon skins without purchasing them guide
In that guide I shown how to use most of the skins by replacing textures
But you can't get all the skins by just replacing textures. Those skins are Neon, Neon RGB, Precious and Vault Vosh Precious

In this guide I will show you how to replace MIC files so you can use those skins as well
Note: If you replace MIC file, you will only be able to play Solo. When you try to connect to a server, it will disconnect you because those material files are not same.
So basically this guide is for people who mostly play Solo and want those cool Neon skins.

I will also show you how to quickly disable them when you want to play multiplayer, and enable them when you want to play solo

Huge thanks to Max's Will It for helping me with this

Things you need
Only Killing Floor 2 SDK (Library→Tools→Killing Floor 2 - SDK)
How to do it
I will use 9mm Neon RGB for this guide. The procedure is same for every other weapon

  • Open Killing Floor 2 SDK
  • While it's loading, decide which weapon you want to edit
  • Now in Weapons folder find your weapon and then click on WEP_1P_yourweapon_MAT
  • Write down the name of MIC file somewhere because you'll need it later

  • Inside Skins folder (located in this same Weapons folder) find MAT file with your desired skin.
  • In my case it's WEP_SkinSet21_MAT
  • Right click on it and click Fully Load
  • Wait until it loads and right click again, then click Save
  • Note: If you don't click Save, then Create a Copy... option will be grayed out.

  • Right click on _1P_Mint_MIC of skin you want and click on Create a Copy...

  • In Package, choose original package of your weapon
  • Delete everything from Grouping
  • in New Name paste that name you copied in first step
  • Click OK

  • If you did everything good, you should see this. Just click on Yes

  • Now original 9mm Pistol is replaced by 9mm Neon RGB Pistol

  • When you are done, exit SDK and it will ask you to save _MAT files
  • Click Save Selected

  • Files will be saved in Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Unpublished
  • To apply them into the game, just rename Unpublished folder to Published
Easier way to do it (Thanks to Max's.Will.It)
  • Fully Load Weapons
  • Find MIC file of your weapon and double click it
  • In Material Instance Editor click on that Magnifier in Parent section

  • Find MIC file of skin you want and click it once
  • In Material Instance Editor click on green arrow pointing to the left

  • Your skin should load now.

  • Do the same for sight if weapon has it

  • And that's it

Rare bug:
If you load skin and it looks like this

then just load any 3P file

and load 1P file again

Scopes
Some weapons have Scopes located in the same file as base weapon model
But some have them in WEP_!P_Optics_Two_Mat

  • ACOG is for M14EBR
  • Crossbow Scope is for Crossbow
  • EOtech for Bullpup
  • Kobra for AK12
  • Aimpoint for SCAR-H
  • Seeker Optic for Seeker Six
Done
Congratulations. Now you have your Neon RGB weapon in the game

Enable/Disable skins (for Multiplayer)
If you want to disable these skins so you can play multiplayer, just rename Weapons folder to anything else
It's located in Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Published\BrewedPC\Packages

If you want to do it quickly with one click then do this:

  • Create New Text File on your Desktop and name it NoSkins.txt
  • Open it and paste this (change Eldin to your name)
    cd C:\Users\Eldin\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Published\BrewedPC\Packages ren Weapons Weapons2
  • Save it as .bat

  • Create another Text File and name it Skins.txt
  • Open it and paste this (again, change Eldin to your name)
    cd C:\Users\Eldin\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Published\BrewedPC\Packages ren Weapons2 Weapons
  • Save it as .bat

Now when you click on NoSkins.bat, it will disable skins and you'll be able to play Multiplayer
When you clikck Skins.bat it will enable skins

You can also do this for individual skins if you want.
For myself I made it so when I click on NoSkins.bat, it renames just weapons with neon skins and put regular texture only skins from this guide
And when I click Skins.bat, it renames those texture only skins and gives me back Neon skins
Notes:
  • You can't get banned for this because you'll be playing solo
  • Even when you try to play multiplayer, as soon as you take weapon with modified MAT file, you'll just get disconnected from server with message "Connection to the host has been lost"
  • It does not require cheat commands like this guide, so you will be able to get XP, Achievements and Dosh while playing with these weapons

If you have any other questions, just ask in comments and I'll try to respond as soon as I can
Download
You thought I'll leave you lazy folks without download link for all neon weapons?
Well, you thought wrong. Here's download link with all Neon and Neon RGB weapons that currently exists https://drive.google.com/open?id=1GbwfHhvJypvwqimRtoNDY2p4wjtZDZ1X

If you like these guides and want to support me, you can donate any items you don't want here https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=160001122&token=gtyN0NPR
And maybe I'll make more of these packs in the future

  • Things that don't work
    • Neon Scope for Railgun, SCAR-H, KRISS Vector
For some reason, when I try to replace scopes of these 3 weapons, my SDK just crashes.
If someone manages to do it successfully, send me those .upk files so I can upload them there for everyone else to use

So KF2 patched the old trich where you just replaced files, and using vosh weapon... this really sucks.... so the only way you can get the rgb skins without paying is this one, no way... absolutely sucks KF2 should not patch the old trick

You have to place those files in
Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Published
Then launch the game

They are located in Weapons/Skins/Wep_SkinSet_VaultVosh XX .mat

Just replace those using this method.

You'll notice that there are multiple weapons in one SkinSet. In VaultVosh02 you have AR15, CaulkBurn, Crovel, HX25, etc.
So you'll have to edit all of them in one go and and save it. All skins from one SkinSet will be saved in one .upk file.
