But man, if my schedule allowed it, I would have loved to do this whole game blind and without brute-forcing. Looking back, I might have been able to do more on my own if I used physical notes for tracking non-ship-role details and used the "X others were present" detail to track individual still-living people throughout the Obra Dinn's story .
(But a stronger nudge/hint that may spoil:) The most possible cause of this "hot and bright" is also acceptable.
(And another not accepted answer:) It's not poison. Although I really believe it looks like poison the whole time! Like some poison contained in the monster's body and released after been killed
I would like to add for guessing not obvious crewmates that identifying racial features can also help significantly in some scenes where their name is never mentioned.
