Description
Infantry movement in arma3 is beyond Olympic athelte speeds. It is very sped up. Especially when crouch running. This is no doubt done to make tranversing the huge terrain less slow and tedious This mod is simply tries to remedey that.

Now using cover and transport is much more important than running everywhere at full speed like a bluearsed fly. Being caught in a bad position needs more than just a quick sprint to safety. And losing your transport in the middle of nowhere is a real inconvenience.

Also important to me was making some difference in speed between crouched and standing runs. Feels better now as running crouched is not actually easy to do for any appreciable time.

Have also added a in-house check to make you slow down a little more indoors to stop hurtling at full speed in a space where we naturally adjust our speed to our cofnies. There might be a second dealy for this to kick in depending on how many units are on the map. This is to try and not impact perfomance ad will be adjusted later on if needed.

Also added a very simply weight system where the heavier you are the (slightly) slower you run. Now packing lighter has real benefits.

Most people wont like this and will prefer the arcade fast paced run speed. This is for the few that can appreciate the difference.


Bug - while going prone the actual dropping down animation is slowed down as well.

Can be run on server.

I'm interested in more fatigue from crouched moving in ACE than changing the speed.

is it possible to get a bit faster?, maybe 10/15% , its a great concept but i think if u speed it up a little it would be perfect, i tried to do it but failed...

of course, use the code just keep attributions and its cool. The source is somewhere on BIS editing forums under the same name.

Hey legs, i love how it works, but for my taste its to slow, can i use parts of the code and make players a bit faster than vanilla instead? :D
Without the building detection and fitness factor, also using a different formula for weight.
Im gonna clearly refer to you where i would use it!

Is it incompatible with any mods? It seems to "work" when moving at a fixed direction- strafing, starting/ending sprint, changing stance seems to bug out and the movement speed increases significantly

this mod the BEST movement speed mod ive used so far.

I've noticed when jumping out of a vehicle, or a few other random events, the movement speed will resume at the original speed, but after about 15 secs drops back to the tws speed.

curious if you've noticed this too?

Hi, looks like a great immersive mod. All though I didn't test yet. Does terrain affects speed and stamina as well ? Running off roads and trails generally makes people slow down IRL this is why man invented roads... When I see ingame people running around crossing cropfields in Livonia or high grass and jungle in Tanoa I don't really feel immersion. Should be a way to slow down characters and vehicle like when walking in shallow water... Do you plan to add this to your mod ?

Is this bug universal on this mod? Not sure if its just on my end, but the movement speed is the same after 20 pounds I think.
