honestly the runes predate psycasts, and i was trying to make them work like psycasts via jecstools originally, just never got around to it.
Yeah, so the soulstones currently are just a resouce- when i first made the mod i couldnt think of any other resouces to use- might have been a mistake! but at the time i never imagined id learn c# so i was making do with what was available at the time. though i would like to get them to do More, its just a matter of getting around to figuring it out and coding it.
i have plans for an eternity shrine, like a mini infinity circuit, which would do exactly that, like a hybrid between a tomb and a generator- its just a matter of working out how to do it all!

Yes, the bots are likely an easy way to implement it for folks who have the dlc
