A Tank's Journey/Bart's Cleric Build
By Lapinoire
A set meant for taking hits and spamming skills, while doing minimal damage. Designed for longer battles, or for leeches to generally do nothing. It's difficult to die with this build, at least.

Important Information
THIS BUILD WAS MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR BART(Knight), BUT CAN BE USED ON ANY CHARACTER TO VARYING DEGREE.

If you are reading this, please, do NOT use this build unless you just absolutely have to. "Active Upon Taking Damage" builds tend to be relatively slow in combat for any character that isn't Myu or Loki, due to lack of damage buffs. However, this build is perfect for Bart if you plan on playing a healer. Generally, this is a terrible build because you don't want a fight to drag on for more than 1 minute, typically.

This build can be crafted very early after clearing 8-9 of Story mode. It only requires:
  • 32 Sage Stones
  • 4 Grade B Flame Dragon Particles
  • 2 Grade A Flame Dragon Particles
  • 3 Grade B The Fragments of the Guardian Dragon
  • 3 Grade A The Fragments of the Guardian Dragon
  • 300,000 Gold
The requirements require you to run every Dragon at least once, and then farm Fallen Divine Dragon about 4~10 times, Magic Dragon of Incandescence 3~7 times, and Kingdom of Goblin 15~30 times. The materials necessary for the carves will be explained in the carve section.
Equipment Preview
Without further delay, let's begin the rest of the guide. Here you can view the set on every character, excluding Xenock(though the build would be the same on him as well). This build, INCLUDING the weapon, is the same for every character, though it is advised to use a different weapon for Tanya and potentially Mana.

Bart:
Tanya:
Mana:
Loki:
** I did not have the Mermaid pet on Loki
Myu:
** I did not have the Mermaid pet on Myu

For this portion, we will be viewing Bart's equipment, because he is the focus of this build.

Carves/Gear Options
3-Set: The Rampant Knight's Eyes
The materials necessary can be found in Chasm: The King's Labyrinth
3-Set: The Mysterious Bird's Rise
The materials necessary can be farmed in Story Chapter 2-9, but is easier to purchase in the Store.

Pieces of equipment to carve "The Rampant Knight's Eyes" onto:
  • Beeltrits Head
  • Mutation Belt
  • Gravinus' Pants

The total mats required for the pieces above are:
  • 6 Grade B The Fragments of the Rampant Knight
  • 3 Grade A The Fragments of the Rampant Knight
The reason the carves go on these specific parts is to mitigate the mat cost and overall grind time: the player will not need S Grade fragments to carve onto these pieces.

The rest of the set will be carved with "The Mysterious Bird's Rise", as the materials are all easily purchased from the store.

For Gear Options:
I recommend a minimum of 4 Max Health Lv.5, as having 1300 HP can prove to be a good safety net against Beeltrit's Burn, and Night Xabel's Rupture debuffs. The player can make do with the base 1000 HP, but 1300 seems to be about right if the player isn't paying too much attention to their health.

The rest of the options on gear can be whatever the player wants, namely Damage Reduction percentages x10~14, or Increased Damage x10~14. Do not bother with Critical chance/Damage unless you are playing Myu.
Overall Status Gain

Main Status Gains:
  • Active upon using [Skill 2]: Increased Damage +30% for 8 Sec. (5/5)
  • Active upon taking damage: Ult Gauge Fill +6 (5/5)
  • Active upon taking damage: Skill Cooldown -6 seconds (5/5)
  • Active upon taking damage: Reduced Damage Taken +30% for 4 Sec. (5/5)
  • Active upon taking damage: Restores 450 Mana (5/5)

Other Status Gains:
  • Max Health +120 (2/5)
  • Resistance to Slow +7% (1/5)
  • Movement Speed +4% (1/5)
  • Health Regen per Second +9 (2/5)
  • Resistance to Frost +21% (2/5)
  • Crit Defense +10% (2/5)

As you can see, this build heavily features abilities that require the player to take damage. These effects take effect from ALL sources of damage, which includes all attacks, burn, poison, and rupture/bleed. This set is especially useful against Nimph Anemone, Beeltrits, and El Sarious, but could potentially be risky to use against Night Xabel.

With some vampire runes and SR Rune of Guardian on the ultimate, the player can become a virtually unkillable tank that can spam skills and ultimates almost non-stop.
Bart's Special Skill Section
This Section covers Bart's Skill and Rune setup, but while these skills are specifically for Bart, the Rune Setup is very similar, if not the same for all the characters.

Earth Slam, or [Skill 2] on all characters:
This is an integral part of this build: not only will it increase the player's damage by 30% for 8 seconds, it is reduced to 6 second cooldown, allowing it to be used when Bart is struck by any attack once, for a quick 200 HP recovery with SR Rune of Vampire x 2

Whirlwind:
Why whirlwind? It has short cooldown and supremely low mana cost. Even if the player doesn't take a hit to reset the cooldown, the cooldown is already incredibly short that it doesn't even need an attack to hit Bart to be used frequently. Use this for a quick 200 HP heal, and to aid in speeding up cooldowns of other skills, in the event that Bart was not attacked. Alternatively, the third slot can be replaced with another SR Rune of Vampire, or an SR Rune of Giant, or even SR Rune of Massacre.

Shelter of Light:
I... am honestly not quite sure what Shelter of Light does. It says 40% damage reduction for allies, but it doesn't seem to affect Bart. There isn't much reason to use this, but it generates Ultimate Gauge much faster than any other skill, which helps in keeping Bart Alive. Consider replacing this with Hammer of Fury, as it is easy to land, can be used at range, and generates a fair amount of Ultimate gauge.

Holy Hammer:
An obvious choice. Though damage is not the main goal of this build, this will help speed things up in the event that the entire part is dead. It hits pretty hard, has a huge AoE, and is practically impossible to miss. It's also pretty much an instant cast, but beware of the forward push upon use.

Holy Blessing:
The obvious choice for a Healer Bart. Equipping this skill with SR Rune of Guardian x2 will make Bart(or any hero) take 0~4 damage from all attacks. Be warned, Burn, Rupture, and Poison will still do full damage. Use this when you or any other player is near death, or to cleanse any debuffs on Bart.

With this build, it makes the use of Earth Slam and Whirlwind practically constant: the player can just mash them non-stop, especially when on fire, bleeding, or on El Sarious(Ice Dragon)'s ice sheet.
Conclusion
This was a build I was not planning on publishing, because it promotes leeching/bad habits.

"Active Upon Taking Damage" build mostly shows its true value in these chasms:
  • Petals in the Mist
  • The Night of the Dancing Blood
  • Magic Dragon of Incandescence
  • Tyrant of the Ice Wall

If used in any other chasm, it will operate at almost 20% efficiency, meaning... DO NOT USE THIS UNLESS FARMING THE SPECIFIC CHASMS LISTED ABOVE.

It's a very fun build, especially on Tyrant on the Ice Wall, but really boring otherwise.

I will only accept it if you meet the criteria below:
1- Your Steam level is above level 7 (So I know you aren't a throwaway account)
2- Your profile is not private/hidden.

Plenty of cheaters often have a level 0 steam account. Even if the account does not have a VAC Ban on it, it's still highly likely that Level 0 Steam Accounts are used by cheaters. If your steam account is level 0, comment on my profile, or join the Discord Server.

Thank you for reading this guide, and please, PLEASE DO NOT BUILD THIS, you're wasting your time, my time, and everyone else's time. Plus you'll probably look like a cheater to people who don't know the game's mechanics.

It works against bosses, but it takes a long time to beat them.

Can this build catch the boss alone?
Is the damage too low?
