Features:

- Enables ultra fast speed without developer mode
- Adds ultra speed icon
- Allows you to set Event speed multiplier by right clicking the speed arrows. Event speed multiplier defines at which speed the game should run when an event happens. The vanilla game locks you at normal speed during hostile events (eg. combat). This setting is preserved through save/load.
- Mod options to configure the multiplier for each of the four speeds

Event Speed Mode

- Right click on speed control UI
- Slow : x0.5 speed (half of normal speed)
- Normal : x1 speed (default setting)
- Fast : x2 speed (twice normal speed)
- Half : Half of current game speed
- Ignore : Ignore force event speed

Incompatibilities

It has been reported that No Forced Slowdown produces an incompatibility

FAQ

Q: This mod doesn't make my game run faster, what gives?
A: Smart Speed is not a performance mod, what it does is it unlocks (and let's you configure) the speed at which the game runs when you press the speed arrows. If you mod can't run at 1000 TPS, setting speed x4 to 3600 won't magically make it run faster.

Adding both this mod and Slow Down (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1077748917) makes this mod silently not do anything.

You can use this mod to remove Forced Slowdown ,It don't have incompatibility with this mod.
不知道为什么 ，我用这个mod 无法解除强制减速，进入战斗后就保持1倍速了，然后我用了链接中的mod，没用发现不兼容的情况。

Weirdest coincidence happened after I added your mod to my list.
For a long while now I haven't had access to my debug menu's other than the "~" menu due to some display bug that started happening when I began adding vanilla expanded mods, along with a few red errors here and there. I know this mod probably has nothing to do with anything here but my game started running smooth as butter all of a sudden after adding this. Most of the time I will lose 3x speed even on the ice sheet eventually. Now? I turned the 4x up to 25 and still running smooth as butter with a fleshmass heart on the map. :O
I've done nothing other than adding your mod. It is probably one of the VE mods updating and fixing a bug I was experiencing but still the coincidence is nuts. I literally quit my game, added this mod and started it back up.

Really love what the mod does so far. configurable 4x speed is game changing for ice sheet challenge.

When I change the speed in the mod setting, it doesn't get applied to anything am I doing something wrong?

hey uhhh... can you make it so that i can set the speed lower than the default speed?not just faster, yknow? example: default speed for x2 is actually x3, soo i wnna set it to x2. i also dont undertsand how the "event speed mode" works, unless is does nothing for me some reason. thanks.

It appears to me that this isn't compatible with No Pause Challenge. I understand they do similar things but this mod has a couple more features I like so I wanted to keep it. With both installed and sorted via RimPy, NPC's 4th speed option does not appear and pressing space to swap between speed 1 and last used speed does not work. Manually placing NPC below this mod fixed these issues, but caused the 1-4 keys to no longer work for changing speed. Tested with no other mods present.

Not sure if you can or even want to fix it but I'm just putting this here in case someone else has the issue I did and doesn't realize it's these two mods together causing it.
