A full capacity of Hydrogen can support a round of entering orbit and landing on planet.

Estimated hover time on earth-like planet with full Hydrogen Tanks is ~20 mins for empty ship.

Entrance has double doors as simple Air Lock.
Two semi-hidden maintenance doors in the front deck structure leads to reactor and other machinery.


As the first ship constructed with new design direction, Rutile received unprecedented success.
T.N.N.S.F. (Tir Na Nog Science Foundation) , surprised but rejoiced, immediately approved further projects to make revised variants serve in standard exploration fleet formation.

Ever since T.N.N.S.F. was founded, the "fleets" are mostly just formed with science ships designed to be able to perform exploration on their own, meaning a clear coordination system with different types of ships never existed.
Even when carrying out missions in more dangerous areas, security duties were mostly contracted to other mercenary corporations.
With the success of Rutile proving the new ship design direction is efficient and, most importantly, reduces the cost of ships remarkably, T.N.N.S.F. figures it is time to finally make a real complete fleet consisting of ships fulfilling different roles..

After removing unnecessary luxury focused features, adding other practical equipment and hull modifications, the Rutile Militia Variant now serves as standard frigate in newly dispatched exploration fleets.


It took me more time than just slapping a few turrets here and there to make this variant.

In fact, turret placement was and is still the most painful thing for me when designing ships since I detest putting them on a flat surface and call it a day.

A fully exposed and protruded turret is surely the most effective, but it's such a sore to the eye, I can't stand it to appear in my design.
I will always try to make a specially designed "turret spot" and since turrets take a large area (3X3X3), it is extra hard to manage on a smaller ship.
Although having turrets semi-enclosed greatly inhibits their cover area, it looks so much better and unique.
On the other hand, it also means more protection for turrets, so it's just a choice between aggressive or defensive I guess.

Your Acorn, Rutile and Badhbh ship don't seem to work for me in survival mode, only in creative? I tested all their variants. The rest of your ships for perfectly fine. Can I do something about this myself?

if you dont like fully exposed turrets i would recommend never looking at any ship i have ever built or helped build.
