Pichacao is a comprehensive phenomenon that surpasses all known examples of graffiti, from the point of view of total coverage - they are everywhere.

Pichacao as a phenomenon of drawing inscriptions on the walls appeared in the 1940s, and first of all they were political slogans written by tar. By the 1970s, Pichacao had almost disappeared from the streets, but in the 1980s they were revived by a group of teenagers who simply wrote their names and team names instead of political slogans. But, despite the lack of direct political statements, Pichacao is still a social statement, and sometimes a protest.

Pichadores - are the so-called artists who make these inscriptions, climbing tall buildings without insurance. For some, pishadores are criminals and hooligans, for others - heroes who risk their lives to get to the most dangerous places and situations that only the graffiti scene saw . But in any case, Pichacao is the purest form of expression.
