The Dead Marshes

Description
**Requires DLC to play**

A map by HousedHorse.

Inspired by The Dead Marshes from Lord of the Rings, this swampy map features the mangrove tileset, littered with the corpses of the soldiers of wars fought long ago. The entire map is enclosed in a dense ring of dead trees, which shorten the rush distance, provide extra wood, and (most importantly) provide dockable shores for a naval army should you so choose.

The map plays like a smaller Arabia but with the addition of naval units for an extra layer of strategy. Resource distribution has been designed to mimic the distribution used in competitive play.

Each player begins with:
- 8 water buffalo
- a deer patch
- a berry patch
- 2 rhinos
- a large, medium, and small gold patch
- a large, and medium stone patch
- 5 straggler trees

Features:
- mangrove shallow tileset for increased strategic depth -- battle with land units or naval units or both
- 1 relic per player plus 3 extra relics
- dead marsh theme (lots of spooky skeletons and dead trees on the outside)
- shorter rush distance for fast paced feudal battles
- water trading is a possibility in team matches

Another great map by HousedHorse. Think of arabia, but with the mangrove tileset, and an opportunity for naval combat and dynamic playstyles.

fun for the whole family :)

Played this earlier today. The map really lends it's self to a variety of strategies, including water, land units and towers. Particularly as towers counter water units

Great map!
