Description
This is my first mod for EU4 (or any paradox game for that matter) so I hope everything works and that at least someone other than myself enjoys it.

As the name suggests, the mods focuses on the British Isles adding new countries, decisions and governments both historical and ahistorical in being. As of the moment it includes

-3 New Countries:

• The United Kingdom

o A nation created from the unification of the British and Irish Crowns. Can be formed by any British Culture nation who has administrative tech 20 and the required cores.
o Unique Government – British Monarchy
o Unique National Ideas
o Unique Flag
o Unique Events


•English Commonwealth
o Ahistorical nation based on the idea of Cromwell’s dream of an English republic coming true. Can be formed by any nation with English as its primary culture and who has administrative tech 10 and the required cores.
o Prevents the formation of Great Britain but it can still form the United Kingdom at a later date.
o Unique Government – Protectorate
o Unique National Ideas
o Unique Decisions – Including Restoration of the Monarchy
o Unique Flag
o Unique Events


•Celtic Union
o Ahistorical nation in which you unify the Celtic peoples under a single nation. Can be formed by any nations with Scottish, Highland, Welsh or Irish Primary culture and who has administrative tech 10 and the required cores
o Unique National Ideas
o Unique Decisions
o Option to form as either a Monarchy or Republic
o Unique flag


-3 New Governments:

•British Monarchy
o An adaptation of the English Monarchy to better portray the system of government after the English Civil War and especially how British governmental policy changed. The new power balance between Monarch and Parliament is shown through an even greater reduction to Max Absolutism than the English Monarchy
o Gives:
 + 1 yearly legitimacy
 +10% Global Tariffs
 +10% Sailor Recovery
 -40 Max Absolutism

o Access to Parliament
o Rulers Cannot be Generals
o Unique to United Kingdom – Cannot be used in Nation Designer


•Protectorate
o Based on the government of the real life English Commonwealth. It plays to the advantages of the Commonwealths Ideas.
o Gives:
 +5% Discipline
 -10 Years of Separatism
 + 10 Max Absolutism
o Access to Parliament
o Rulers reign for life
o Unique to English Commonwealth- Can be used in Nations Designer


•Principality
o Based on pre-conquest systems of Welsh government amongst the independent Princes. The Prince ruled over the nation but local lords held significant power and autonomy.
o Gives:
 +15% National Manpower
 -1 National Unrest
 +5/0/-5 Max Absolutism to represent the growing power of autonomous nobles as the nation grows
o Adopted through decision available to all nations with Welsh Primary culture – Can be used in Nation designer.

-New Decisions both general and nation Specific.

Plans:
• Add more nations
• Unique events for existing nations
• Unique government for Celtic Union - (added but still WIP)
• More decisions and events in general.

The nobility in Britain had massive influence all the up until the 1940s and even carrying on in a slightly dimishsed form till the House of Lords reform in 1997. It would feel wrong to remove them when ever major figure in British politics in the time span of EU4 was from the nobility.

What about disabling the nobles estate for the british monarchy as it makes no sense for the nobles to come back from the english monarchy

Okay, the protectorate should be fixed for real now and the events should all have their proper localisation now. The events have also been changed so the armies should always spawn for the released nation and not for the player.

and btw i keep getting a missing localisation event for (probably) the army of wales event which gives me an army but releases a independent wales

might just be som bug at my end but I started a new game and looked at the protectorate government and it still had the +50 might just have been a bug on my end

Germanic-Gaelic Hybrid? Well thats news to me, a Scots speaker and as such obviously Scottish. Don't get me wrong, there is certainly old Celtic influence on the language and culture, but no where near enough to call it a hydridisation.
