Description
Paint the town red in this western themed FPS!

GAMEJOLT VERSION: https://gamejolt.com/games/frontiersdeathmatch/359062
(should run a lot better since it is compiled in C++)

UPDATE: The multiplayer supports up to 4 players now! (i haven't tested it online, only in LAN, but it should work if you open a port in your router like in the good ol' days, or just use hamachi).

Just a little project i made in a few spare hours to take a break from Age of Pixels and leran how to implement multiplayer in games.

CONTROLS:
ESC to quit.
use WASD to move.
move the MOUSE to look around.
LEFT CLICK to shoot.
press 1 to select the pistol.
press 2 to select the shotgun.
press 3 to select the rifle.
press 4 to select the gatling gun.
T to chat.

Have fun!

It would be the better option to make a simple external server program, but you really don't need to, this very game is an example ;)

what about a LAN only game? would i still need a sperate server program or hamatchi to host a LAN game?

I thought you were asking how to start an online game lol.

Btw in order to make an online game you'll need servers (that need to be manteined) and non-gml scripts to get them to run as you want them to, it's not a feat a single person can achieve i believe :(

I meant like a tutorial or something

Well, you either play on a LAN network or you open a port in your router and connect to that, like we used to do in the 90s ;)

how do you make a multiplayer game? (without having to use hamatchi)

I'll look into adding that and some more things as soon as i'm finished with my main project ;)

i have played the gamejolt version and i quite liked it, i'm also making a 3d engine atm and i know the pain of implementing of vertical view but this game doesn't need it in my opinion. The only small addition i would do to this game are a melee weapon since you are very quickly out of ammo
