Hi everyone, I'm sorry for what I'm about to say.

First of all
I'm sorry for being radio silent. Each time I actually answered telling you I was working on the new version it was true, I just never finished the re-rework. For each DLCs and update that came out for HoI IV, the lesser I played HoI IV and the more difficult it became working on the mod, not knowing the game so well.

In the end
This mod will not be updated anymore. I've tried working on it regardless of the problems mentioned above, but honestly I didn't feel like I could have done a good job without knowing the game and its new features well.
I'm re-opening the mod so that you can still play it, although there might be some compatibilities issues.
Therefore, There will not be a 2.0 Version of Italy Rework By VinDeagle

But wait...
I still believe Italy deserves a big overhaul, but as said above I don't know well HoI anymore. If any of you wants to help send me a friend request, I still have some ideas for better historical accuracy and better design overall.

Goal of this mod:

Giving the players a fun yet historically plausible experience, by making them feel the difficulties that Italy had at the end of the 30s, the lack of preparation and the disorganized army.

Features

- More historical playthrough
The condition of Italy when it entered the war was really poor, having only two months of ammunition left and less divisions that it should have had; now you can save Italy from the depths and give this country a new economy and an army reform.

- Alternative History
By losing Somalia and Eritrea in the war you will unlock the decision to white peace. Then you will be able to take the focus ‘Ethiopian Delusion’ with which you can either kill Mussolini and have Badoglio ruling your country or you can go Communist or democratic, aligning with the Comintern or the Allies, or on your own!

- Foreign Policy as Decisions
To make the experience funnier now the claims and all the focuses about foreign policy are turned into decisions! Claim Dalmatia as a decision, create the wargoal as decision and declare war!

- Industrialization of the Country
Industrialize the southern and middle part of Italy and expand the northern factories!

- Army reform
Reform the army changing the starting templates and show the world how Italy can be a military power too! Spawn the specialized and veteran divisions and use them for your own plans!


Why there is not a neutrality path where the king take power?

The goal of this mod as I said is to achieve historical plausibility, after some research and studies I found out that the King had lost too much power and authority to ever come back, the elections for the republic after world war two are a great example.

But Italy is too weak! Can you balance it better?

Well then I did a good job. Italy, and I'm saying it as an Italian, was not in the position of changing the course of the war, yet. So what I did is giving the player a choice, whether developing economy, but waiting more for the war, or going for the war immediately but with an obsolete economy. In this way I achieved historical accuracy and more playability given by the choices.
This is not a mod like any other that lets you conquer the world as a minor nation, this is a mod that wants to achieve an immersive experience.

Where's the fascist part?

In 1936 Fascism was already unchallenged in Italy, and the only things it did after was trying to improve the economy, so basically the economic part is the fascist part too.
