I haven't played all the way through with this mod. So if there are any bugs please comment below.
Potential bugs:

At the end of Fort Joy before boarding the Lady Vengeance, the any extra party members may have to be dismissed and rehired on the lady vengeance.

If you continue a save game with this mod enabled then this happens. My suggestion in this case is to keep party members away when a dialog begins. Another potential fix will be disabling the mods after you have recruited your party members.

I can't get laughingleaders version of this to work, came here hoping for a fix but then saw its not for DE and now am sad.

i think this mod bugged my game, when i delete this mod from the mods folder and unsub from it, once i turn on a certain amount of mods, this mod activates and i start my solo play with 4 characters even though the mod is nowhere to be found in the mods folder and mods menu :/

Hello mate !
I've been trying to play with 4 of my friends (so we are 5), I followed your guide above and downloaded LaughingLeader's mod for the definitive edition, but it doesn't work.

I can have 5 characters in my party, with 4 players, but the last player can't join us. What did I do wrong ?

I don't know, all that has been changed is story mode files so maybe.

Yes I am aware of the workaround, but that is all it is; a workaround. Please just wait until the official engine comes out.
