Description
The regional center of the Eastern Visayas region, that is also the capital of Leyte: Tacloban City

The city is also known for several disasters that destroyed the city such in 1991 and 2013.

Major improvements focused on rebuilding the downtown, converting it into an central business district, and on the city's infrastructure such as the creation of new major thoroughfares, Tacloban City Subway system, Port of Tacloban expansion, Tacloban City Streetcar system, and the Tacloban City Blimp Service.
