Zoo employees can relief you of lots of your daily chores.

You can manage them in your administrative building:

You can buy this building in the shop from level 8 onwards.

  • The gardener will water your plants as soon as a watering symbol appears above the plants. He'll water all plants that are placed up to six rows away from a path - also plants that are placed diagonally to a path will be watered.

  • The garbage collector will empty your garbage cans and pick up the rubbish if you don't have the time for that, to ensure your visitors won't leave the zoo in disgust. Garbage cans will only be emptied if they are placed directly next to a path, and one row apart from them!

  • The zoo keeper will tend to your animals, entertain and feed them as soon as the respective bubbles appear over animals heads. He won't be able to feed/entertain and tend to every animal immediately, but only will take care of them if one of their needs reaches its critical stage. Only animals whose enclosures are no further away from a path than 2 rows will be tended to, this also goes for those placed diagonally to a path.

  • The treasurer will collect the money gained in your stores/restrooms for you (but not the money you earn at your zoo's entrance). Shops that are placed more than 4 rows away from a path won't be visited. The treasurer also takes care of stalls/restrooms placed diagonally to a path.

Please note that the workers cannot reach objects but only, depending on the employee's job, up to a maximum of one to six fields next to the paths. Please also mind that your employees generally will only take care of your zoo if you are logged in (on-line). While you are off-line, they will only do parts of their tasks or none at all!
How do I hire employees and what do they cost?
Open your administrative building to get to the overview. In this example, there are three teams hired and two more slots which can be used to hire another employee or a team of employees:

The bigger your zoo, the more there is to do and one single employee won't be able to get around to all the chores. That's why you have a total of ten slots for employees. These will work for 7 or 30 days, after which you'll have to hire them again. To change the duration, click on the green "plus" button next to the employee's picture:

Three slots are unlocked and available automatically, unlocking the slots 4-10 will cost you diamonds. Slots you unlocked once will remain unlocked of course. You won't have to unlock them again, but simply hire new employees if their contracts have run out.

What are teams of employees?

Teams of employees are highly advisable if you have a larger zoo. They only need one slot, but are a team of 3 workers and of course manage to take care of more chores than one single employee. You may only hire teams of the same profession - such as team of gardeners, garbage collectors or technicians. There are no mixed teams.

Costs of Employees:

A single employee - 7 days - 2 diamonds
A single employee - 30 days - 7 diamonds
A team of employees (= 3 employees) - 7 days - 6 diamonds
A team of employees (= 3 employees) - 30 days - 22 diamonds

Thanks for doing all of these guides (I've rated them all upwards).
