Description
Long-time referee who worked mainly in California and Japan (JWA & NJPW) from the 60s to the 80s. He is the original "Red Shoes" that New Japan referee Unno pays homage to in his nickname. Calibrated for slightly longer matches, he moves quickly and does not take kindly to illegal tactics. As befits the era in Japan, his outside count is fast, so count outs may occur... Oh yeah, he was also the referee of Rocky Balboa vs. Thunderlips in Rocky 3!
