Description
Tired of being an Engineer chained to your sentry gun? Would you like to open a can of whoop-ass on your opponents? Then the Bull Bomb is just what you're looking for. The Bull Bomb is a remote control flying bomb the Engineer can pilot into enemy strongholds and detonate doing all sorts of damage.

The Bull Bomb is a buildable device. The device is built in a similar manner to a sentry gun or teleporter. The Engineer calls up and selects the Bull Bomb from his PDA and places it on the floor. The tool box opens up and the Bull Bomb begins assembling itself. However, the Bull Bomb doesn't have 3 build levels. It has just one. They way it works is that the Bull Bomb's power depends on how much metal the Engineer beats into it. The more metal the Engineer adds to the Bull Bomb, the bigger the bang. The proposed rules for the Bull Bomb are as follows:

* The Bull Bomb is initially built like all other buildables, except it only has 1 level.

* The Bomb's strength (blast damage) is directly proportional to how much metal the Engineer adds to the device during its construction. The Engineer can add up 800 units of metal. (The bomb starts out with 100 units.)

* The Engineer flies the Bull Bomb using a remote control similar to the Wrangler. Options could be made for flight either in first person view or in third person view (relative to the bomb).

* The Bull Bomb uses the stored metal for fuel to fly which limits its flight time. The longer it flies, the less metal is available for doing damage at the target, so the Engineer will want to be as close as possible before launching the Bull Bomb to save fuel and maximize damage. Running out of fuel causes the Bull Bomb to explode harmlessly and fall to the ground.

* The Bull Bomb can be carried like other buildables. So the Engineer can build it in safety and then carry it to a point near the target destination.

* Once launched, the Bull Bomb cannot land. The rockets stay lit until the Bomb is detonated or it runs out of fuel.

* The Bull Bomb can take damage from enemy fire which depletes its stored fuel in proportion to the damage received.

* The Bull Bomb has a shield which can be activated by the Engineer (alt-fire) which greatly reduces the damage received. However, using the shield also depletes fuel in addition to the fuel used by the rockets.

* The shield will prevent the Bull Bomb from being seen by enemy sentries.

* The Bull Bomb can go anywhere a player can go.

* Once the Engineer launches the Bull Bomb, he is committed to fly it until it either runs out of fuel or is detonated. The Engineer cannot switch weapons while flying the Bull Bomb. Doing so will cause loss of control and cause the Bomb to crash. The Engineer won't be able to move or see what's happening around him while flying the Bull Bomb since the control inputs normally used for movement are controlling the bomb. This means the Engineer will need to find a safe place to hide while flying the Bull Bomb since he's helpless while flying it.

It's not obvious, but there's a speaker on top of the horns in the center. The idea is to allow audio taunts to be added to the Bull Bomb which could be played like the noise maker action items.

The Bull Bomb is intended to give the Engineer something to do while there's not much going on inside his base. It's not much fun when no one is attacking which causes a lot of players to get bored and switch classes. The Bull Bomb can be used in conjunction with Uber attacks and Bonk Scouts to break heavily fortified positions. The limitations on the Bull Bomb (the time it takes to add metal, the fuel usage, the vulnerability to damage) are their to act as a balance to the potentially awesome power of the device should it be successfully deployed at close range with a fuel load of metal.
