Go to: C:\Users\(Whatever your User name is)\AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\Dead Space
Or: Just paste %localappdata%\Electronic Arts\Dead Space into the file explorer address bar.

Open: The Settings file therein.

Change: 'Game.Played = 0' To 'Game.Played = 1'

You may need to save the game once first before the Settings file shows up in the folder.

That's it, enjoy. 2 hours of browsing online for this and no one else that I could find posted this information anywhere. So I did my own looking in the files. Viola, it's that easy.

@Fenguard Thank you for your input. it just popped up, i just played the game until the First save station, saved and viloa!

@OzymanJeff It's a whole game setting, not anything specific to a save file so I wouldn't think so, strange that it's not there since it controls a lot more than just the hardest difficulty. If you haven't launched the game once before you may have to for it to generate the file. I don't know what else to do if it's missing other than looking up how to create the settings file yourself.

Hey Fenguard, was following instructions and there is no setting file in that folder. do you have to start a new game first?

Yeah that could work. I just deleted the game and reinstalled flash 10 times and then ran into a wall and that did the trick for me, but I was semi conscious so it may have not

I think it is worth playing the game before playing Impossible since it awards you with 50000 credits and 10 power nodes along with other stuff...
