Das Südbad ist ein Hallenbad in der Dortmunder Innenstadt. Das 2007 renovierte Gebäude ist als Baudenkmal in die Denkmalliste der Stadt Dortmund eingetragen.

Das Südbad entstand zwischen 1957 und 1960 als erstes Dortmunder Hallenbad nach dem Krieg. Im Untergeschoss des Schwimmbads standen den Dortmundern ohne eigenes Bad Brause- und Wannenkabinen zur Körperreinigung zur Verfügung. 

Die Architektur des Gebäudes ist durch Stahlbetonbau und der vollständig gläsernen Ostfassade geprägt. Im Gebäude befindet sich ein Wandfliesenmosaik nach einem Entwurf von Harry Fränkel. Zwischen 2003 und 2007 war das Bad geschlossen und wurde umfassend saniert. 

Heute ist das Bad mit acht Bahnen und einem 50-Meter-Edelstahlbecken wieder eine zeitgemäße Wettkampfstätte, die aber auch für den Schul- und Breitensport genutzt wird. Die Zuschauertribüne bietet Platz für 500 Menschen. Das Bad besitzt einen 10-Meter Sprungturm. 

In dem Sportbad fanden Olympiaausscheidungen und Deutsche Meisterschaften statt. Zahlreiche Schwimmrekorde wurden im Südbad aufgestellt. Erste Internationale Meisterschaft nach den umfangreichen Sanierungsarbeiten war im Jahre 2010 die 10. Schwimm-Europameisterschaft der Gehörlosen vom 20. bis 26. Juni 2010. Teilgenommen haben Sportlerinnen und Sportler aus 17 europäischen Ländern

The „Südbad“ is a public swimhall in the City of Dortmund / Germany. The building was renovated 2007 and added to
the list of building monuments of the City of Dortmund. 

The Südbad was build between 1957 and 1960 as one of the first public swimhalls in Dortmund after the second world war. In the basement of the swimhall people without their own washrooms were able to shower and took a bath. 

The buildings architecture is characterized by concrete construction and a completely glassed facade to the east. The Inside of the big swimhall is beautified with a big wall tile mosaic, designed by Harry Fränkel. Between 2003 and 2007 the bath was closed to be widely renovated. 

Today the bath has an eight lane 50m long pool for swimming contests, that also beeing used for school swimming or public sport training. The public gallery has 500 seats for competition spectators. The bath also has a 10m diving platform.

Olympic excretions, as well as german championships took place in the swimhall. Several swimrecords also had been set here. After the renovation working first international Event took place here as the 10. european swimming championship of the Deaf, with participants of 17 european countries happened here in 2010.
