Tips & notes
  • At the start of a level, observe the clock. The areas that are faintly highlighted with a sepia tone are the ones that will eventually contain the glass pieces. The completely black ones stay empty.
  • First fit in the red pieces, this should be easy. On some levels there are symmetrical red locations, so it's a 50-50 chance if you manage to match them at first try.
  • Optional: On levels that contain smaller areas aside of the main one, it usually helps to try to fill those next, as they are usually simple geometric shapes. This helps reducing the overall number of pieces you have to work with on the main clockface.
  • After this, try to find the edge pieces - the ones with a straight edge or smooth, flat curve.
  • After you fit all the fairly obvious pieces, it becomes more trial and error. Try to focus on the larger pieces first, pay attention to the shapes, and to some degree the colours and patterns too, they can help to find the approximate area of the piece.
  • The rotation of the pieces on the wheel seems to be random, so you can't tell by a glance which way a piece will face without grabbing it.
  • That's it folks, keep persevering. It usually helps if you can figure out what the clock is depicting, because then you can have an idea what shapes you should look out for.

You can't rotate them, as the game only features what's the easy difficulty in GM2, so they auto-rotate. (At least iirc this was the case two years ago when I played GM1.)

How do you rotate a piece? GM2, you just hold it and click the right mouse button.

Another tip: You can rotate the wheels with pieces on by click and dragging near them.
