TO THE BATMOBILE!!!! Na-Na Na-na na-na nA-nA, Na-Na Na-na na-na nA-nA!!

This is probably one of the best renditions of the 60's Batmobile I've seen to date. It was uploaded to Deviantart by CapLagRobin and is available in XNA format here https://caplagrobin.deviantart.com/art/XNALARA-BATMAN-ARKHAM-KNIGHT-BATMOBILE-1960s-569030524

I've requested to convert their model for use in SFM and have received permission from CapLagRobin to post to the workshop. I present it to you as your late Christmas Present.

I have added new bones to the vehicle and scaled it to the GMod type Batman models. I have converted the textures provided by CapLagRobin to Valve textures and created the VMTs.

The Batman and Robin models used in the cover picture are not available (at least not from me.) These were converted from XNA models found on Deviantart for use in SFM by me and I do not have permission of the releasing authors of the models to upload them (nor will I be asking for permission to do so. If you want them, you'll have to learn how to create/convert models, get them from the original authors or someone else.)

This Batmobile model has been created as fan art and in honor of the late Adam West (The Original Batman of my youth.) It may not be used for any commercial purpose without permission of the Brand Copyright holders. The Batmobile and related Batman likenesses are copyright of DC Comics and Warner Bros. (From what I've read on the net.)

As with any model I post here, if I am requested to remove this model by the Copyright Holder, I will do so without hesitation or warning.

A little histroy of the 60's Batmobile... Did you know that it was created from the design of an actual real life car?
The base vehicle for the Batmobile was a concept car developed in 1954 and released in 1955 by Ford/Lincoln. The car's trade name was the Futura.

You can read about it and find more links here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Futura

I have not created a sfm_defaultanimationgroups.txt entry to group the bones and get rid of the Unknown Control entry yet. But will post the entry here when I do.

you could also hire a car customs shop to make one, however, they may not be 100% accurate, a guy named Bob Butts made molds that are 1 to 1 to the original, they are extremly rare and there are bootlegged molds that are actually really close but are just off in measurements (the front is 10 in. longer than the rear). watch "car masters: rust to riches", they find a real Bob Butts mold and make it street legal and 100% accurate to the original.

I believe (if I read the history correctly), there was only 1 futura built for public release and that was turned into Batmobile for the TV show.
The ones seen in other photos were concept prototypes and there were one a few (if not only 1) of those. The car itself was priced way too high for the times to be profitable to the Ford company as a public release and scrapped.

Unless it was a very poorly put together replica, you would be able to afford it anyway....

Created by Ford motor company's lead stylists Bill Schmidt and John Najjar and handbuilt in Italy by the legendary Ghia coachbuilding company. The Futura did not come cheap, in 1955 the project cost $250,000, which by conservative estimates is $2,300,000 in modern money.Nov. 30, 2019

The original Batmobile sold at auction in 2013 for $4.6 million USD, it resold at auction again in 2017 for $4.62 million USD setting a world record price for a TV/Movie car.
