The Digital Asset Inquisition

설명
The Mission
A recent data leak of highly valuable and confidential files has prompted your clients to hire independent contractors to investigate, suspecting the leak to have originated internally. They have reason to believe one of the asset managers may be responsible for the breach.

This individual has not checked in recently, but you have triangulated their last known location to a space hotel on the fringe of the galaxial terminal, where it is suspected they plan to make their escape.

Your mission is to infiltrate the hotel and recover evidence of their involvement in the data leak by
a) retrieving their suitcase for evidence and
b) obtaining the target's brainbox for analysis
Further details are on the chalkboard, and be sure to check your notebook.

Installation
1. Press subscribe
2. Launch QC > Mods > Click mod > Activate mod
3. Career > Job Select > Start

Notes
  • This map is BIG. I was a little overambitious. It's laggy at the start but should run better once you get inside. Due to the complexity of one of the puzzles you could also crash. Feel free to skip over any puzzles if you've already solved them. To do this:
    1. Options > Advanced options > Debug console > Yes
    2. Now, back in game press backquote (tilde). The console should appear
    3. Type noclip and press enter
    4. You can now freely move past the puzzle and to the last point of progress. Type noclip again to disable it
  • Shattering windows WILL NOT trigger alarms, and neither will triggering alarms in the pneumotube room. There is very little chance of being shot down, and there are defuse boxes pretty much everywhere
  • Quicksaving may appear to save, but doesn't load correctly
  • Known bug - glitchy skybox :(

As always, feedback is appreciated, although I know I kinda shot myself in the foot with this one. I'm definitely going back to making smaller maps. If you'd like to be notified when they come out, you can go to my workshop page and press Follow.

Interested in making maps yourself? There's now a Quadrilateral Cowboy Discord channel! Everyone is welcome, mappers and fans alike :D

I'm still glad you made it because without you, the maps for this game would be even less. There's 6 maps and you made 3 of them, but for the workshop there's only 8 items. You did great.

@kii I don't remember! I probably worked on it on and off for two or three weeks?

How long did it take to make :O?

Yeah haha, I think I was definitely pushing the limits of how much the deck would handle at a time... batch files are definitely useful in this case, which weren't used at all in the main game. They're like blinks, but you can execute them via the deck (like grouping sets of commands)

I didn't imagine the idea of this one being that hard, but it's quite the inconvenience when you have so many commands happen at once that the instructions just stop halfway through. It looks like I absolutely need to use blinks to segment my instructions. It reminds me the game doesn't let me copy and paste commands.

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed :) It's undoubtedly cruel, that single puzzle probably warrants its own map.

A work of cruel beauty or beautiful cruelty. The security room puzzle in particular is remarkable. This is a magnificent piece of work
Chesterzilla 2018년 3월 30일 오후 4시 38분
Awesome. That timing puzzle was nuts. I had to use two separate blink commands to fit all the code.

That's strange. I'll definitely look into it, but I suspect it's due to the combination of the lighting and the scale of things and not your computer. For now I would encourage you to use the console noclip to bypass (at least) the pneumotube room (if you enter Room 201 and press the button by the orange door it'll keep it open permanently). And if you still can't reach gate2, maybe noclip to it instead. Sorry to have made you crash! :steamsad:
