Tips.
Greetings!
I'll rate the difficulty 8 out of 10 and may take around 170 hrs depending on when you get Yata Mirror. It's easier completing Nioh on STEAM than on Play Station, since you don't need to finish all missions (cuz' the "Samurai of Legend" trophy for Play Station does not apply to STEAM and there ARE extremely hard sub missions) .

Some tips:
*Focusing on getting to higher NG+ instead of sticking around. Some achievements seem very hard could be very easy after NG+3.
*Nioh looks like Dark Souls, but it's not Dark Souls. Here equipments matter.

Main Mission Chevos
Now the Journey begins!

There are 11 chevos for finishing the main story:

During which you can get special chevos for several missions:
In Main Mission "The Sea Roars Again", the first one is right in the beginning. The second one: you need to go through the wall yokai The Third:go up the ladder to your right, then go down the ladder to you left (at the back of the second Thrine).

In main mission "Spider Nest Castle", collected all SIX fragments of the Hiragumo teakettle. You collect one fragment by killings one super large spider. There are six of them.

In main mission "The Defiled Castle", you will encounter Ryunoshin, who will ask you for 30 dungballs, when you left the sewer (by climbing a ladder). You can unlock a super shortcut, that even avoids the first boss. You can farm the 4 Mudmen enemies for dungballs at the starting area.

In main mission "The Demon of Mount Hiei", defeat the Nue. He is hard to miss.

In Main Mission "The Queen's Eyes", go down this stair (right next to the second Thrine): And here's Derrick:
Side Mission Chevos
There's only 1 side mission related chevo:
Finish the side mission "The Trail of the Master", Tokai Region.
Weapon Related Chevos
There are 10 weapon, ninja & magic related chevos.
Basically you need to get each type the following:
*500,000 profeciency points
*7 Skill points
*Pass the related Dojo mission.

Get 999,999 proficiency for one type of weapon.

Collectible Related Chevos
There are 5 collection related chevos. They are annoying and time-costing but you gotta be patient =]
I recommend finish the game first then turn back to get them. It's much easier to explore the map with a higher level.
You can check your progress in Gameplay Records. Details of each mission are on your maps.

There are a total of 150 Kodama to find, with 25 in each of the 6 Regions of Nioh. For every 5 Kodama you find in a region, you'll be granted an additional Elixir that replenishes each time you visit a Shrine.

Basically every main mission has one. Sub Mission "The Trial of a Master" has five.

You can purchase gestures from Teahouse to meet the number.

List of best materials: Disassembly (at Blacksmith): Tamahagane = Katana, Dual Katana, Kusarigama Wood = Spear, Rifle, Bow Ingot = Axe, Handcannon, Foot Armor (H) Lacquer = Head Armor (L/M/H) Leather Cord = Arm Armor (L/M/H) Leather Kozane = Torso Armor (L), Leg Armor (L), Foot Armor (L) Iron Kozane = Torso Armor (M/H), Leg Armor (M/H), Foot Armor (M) Divine Fragment = Divine Gear (any item type) Mission Rewards & Drops: Demon’s Horn = Dropped by large Yokai Monsters, very common Writhing Tongue = Dropped by Onyudos (large muscular monsters with long tongue, often use tongue to attack) Ogress Claw = Twilight Missions “The Bleeding Spider Lily”, also rarely dropped by Ogress boss on any difficulty Hank of Yokai Hair = Mission Reward / Twilight Mission “An Ominous Cavern”, also rarely dropped by Hino-enma boss and Flying Bolts (white lady ghosts) Bangasa Rib = Mission Reward / Twilight Missions “An Ominous Cavern” Raven Tengu Feather = Mission Reward / Twilight Missions. Also dropped by bird enemies. Spider’s Leg Husk = Dropped by large spider enemies in main mission “Spider Nest Castle” and Joro-Gumo boss (rare drop) Gargantuan Tail Bone = Can be dropped by Gasha-dokuro boss in main mission “The Source of Evil” White Tiger Fur = Twilight Mission “The Best and the Worst”, also rarely dropped by White Tiger boss Umi-bozu’s eyestone = Twilight Mission “Foreboding Seas”, also rarely dropped by Umi-bozu boss Nue’s Claw = Drop from the Nue bosses (appears multiple times throughout the game) Kappa Shell = Dropped by Kappa Turtles with glowing shell (can be farmed in sub mission “Finders, Keepers”, very low drop rate) Great Centipede’s Fang = Dropped by Great Centipede boss in main mission “The Silver Mine Writhes”
Forget the list, cuz' this must be the one missing:
Orochi Scale = Dropped by Yamata-no-Orochi boss when defeating him a second time (replay main mission “The Demon King Revealed”)

List of Guardians:

Other Chevos (Easy)

Easy first-time experience & level related chevos
Easy.

Use the "Hyottoko Mask" to defeat an enemy.

If you want to farm this solo, I would recommend Sub Mission "Greater Demon Hunting".

To unlock this in blacksmith, you need to spend some money (just buy one Book of Reincarnation) to make a request to open the barber section.

Use the right gesture on the wall yokai with eyes (you've got two chances): or the chest yokai who can copy you (he will then do a random gesture, you do the same.)

If you have a companion, for Boss yokais to be counted as "defeated", you need to do a decent amount of dmg to the boss or it will not count even though you finished the mission.
Small yokais:

Large yokais:

Other Chevos (Hard)
Difficult chevos. Consider getting them very late game.

Means you need 60 patronage points and that's quite a fortune! So you better start saving early. Sell your equipments and do bargaining. You make requests in "Blacksmith - Dialogue - I have a request for XXX":

70,000 Glory is needed for a female transform. So farm hard.

From Siameasy: dont bother grinding gear and soul matching to get the achievement for equipping all divine + 15, by the time you get to way of the wise/nioh all the divines that drop will be way above +15 and you will easily get the achievement.

RIP

You can farm Yasakani Magatama in the sub mission "The Trail of the Master". Open the door right next to thrine, check the body. If no YM dropped, don't pick it up and pray at the thrine (take the mask to refresh). Repeat the progress three times and if still you get nothing, quit the mission and replay it. Yata Mirror is availiable for NG+4 and above. People get it from treasure room in The Abyss. Blacksmith might sell it some time, so check it every time you finished a mission.
Dragon of the North (Tohoku)
3 chevos for finishing missions in the Tohoku region:

During main mission "The One-Eyed Dragon's Castle", you can obtain the following:

Easy one. Just let the first boss finish his words.

There are four three-storied keeps in the castle. You need to kill the yokai on the top floor of each keep. This will also make your first boss fight much easier.

2 chevos for collectibles:

Defiant Honor [Siege of Osaka (Winter)]
3 Chevos for finishing missions:

During which you can obtain the following:

Two giant cannonballs are given to you by an npc shortly after the start, hiding in the trench. The third cannonball can be found in a body at the thrid area, next to the ladder leading to the deepest trench. Location of the body with cannonball:

Now you know you need a good Tonfa.

It's Sub Mission "Ganryu". In case you need, dual wooden sword can drop easily in dual sword's dojo mission.

Ten men will all be on your way, so don't worry about missing them, unless you are deaf cuz' they will all be yelling loudly.
2 collectible related chevos:

Bloodshed's End [Siege of Osaka (Summer)]
3 chevos for finishing missions:

During which you can obtain the followings:

In Main Mission "The Sanada's Resolve", there are FIVE destroyable canons. Four of them are next to a powder barrel, so simply shot the barrel. One of them is next to a yokai with a barrel, you need to lore the yokai first then shot the barrel on its back. 1st: 2nd (the one you need to lore the yokai): 3rd: 4th: 5th:

In Main Mission "Resentment Unleashed", the Onmoraki will show up twice before boss fight. Simply use your gun to shot the large bird till it flees away and the chevo should pop out.

Revenant Contraption is the yellow door-like crystal with a yokai standing in front of it. There are four batchs of them. First one: Second one: Third one: Fourth one:
2 collectible related chevos:

2 chevos for NG+2 or above:

You Are Nioh.

Fullira, You have to apply 2 elemental-based debuffs on an enemy for them to get the "confused" debuff. Once they are afflicted by it, you get the achievement.

(Elemental debuffs are inflicted through non-physical damage, so a fireball will inflict burning, a waterball will inflict soaked, etc...)

Is there a trick to "Ultimate Pro"? I've gotten max proficiency with stuff before, but I'm guessing it has to be all 5 bars? How do you get 5 bars of proficiency on a weapon? Any trick to it?
