Fans were weary when the former El Generico ditched his trademark mask when he signed with WWE, but Sami Zayn has still had massive fan support during his WWE run.

While in NXT for a few years, Zayn had several outstanding matches along with a brief run as NXT Champion. His best friend (and frequent bitter rival) Kevin Owens turned on him after the title win, bring one of the most celebrated indy feuds of the past decade to WWE.

Zayn and Owens seemed to always be fighting for the better part of two years, until Zayn had a change of heart. Turning heel at Hell in a Cell 2017 by assisting Owens against Shane McMahon, Sami looks to take his career into his own hands and climb to the top alongside his best friend.
