LeeWay Motor Freight for Harven's FLB

Description
LeeWay Motor Freight for Harven's Freightliner FLB

This is what I have been able to piece together on the company history. If any of this information is incorrect, please let me know.

R. W. Lee. Leeway started up business sometime in the early 1900's in Clinton, Oklahoma and went on to become a nationwide carrier. In 1976 the company was purchased by PepsiCo which owned KFC, Frito-Lay, Wilson Sporting Goods, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell. In 1984 PepsiCo sold LeeWay to *Commercial-Lovelace Motor Freight* where it became just another fallen-flag. Today it appears to have been absorbed into Leeway Global Logistics.

*Thanks Tavi for the new info!

This version is modeled after images found on the web. There are several different paint schemes, but I chose to do the green and yellow for this paint job. The real trucks were pretty bare as is this one.

This paint job requires Harven's Freightliner FLB.

Frontiersman has decals for modding. Be sure to visit his resource page, he has put a lot of time in gathering decals and stickers for fellow modders.

A beautiful skin for this great truck! Thank you very much for your work and time, thanks for sharing.

Yes TW, all my truck skins need trailers. Dont know why adding new trailers to ETS2 Studio is so much different then adding new trucks. I still haven't figured it out. I have some trailer skins made up and ready to go. When I load the .scs file locally or upload to steam set to private, they show up red and say no texture found. Think it has something to do with the tobj file not being generated through the studio.

Thanks, Tavi! I'll have to add your piece of missing information to the description. Same can be said for a lot of the railroad mergers. Just not the same as what it used to be. Many of the smaller or even larger companies were still family owned business' or continued operating as such and their employees treated better overall. Not in every case though, I'm sure there were exceptions.

I like the touch that you added 1984 as the unit number, coinciding with the closure of the company mere months after Commercial-Lovelace Motor Freight purchased them from PepsiCo. By the end of that year, the company was gone. CLMF went the following year.

Few companies survive mergers. YRC Freight and FedEx Freight are two examples of survivors, and for what it's worth neither of those companies is the same as the companies they were built from. Many people are still left bitter for the loss of the company they used to work for. Roadway, Yellow Freight, Watkins Motor Lines, Viking Freight and American Freightways. The drivers who worked for each of these companies will tell you they were happier when they worked for these companies than they are at YRC/FedEx.

Thank you! I agree it would be nice to have more of the older models. I've passed up on making some skins because there just isn't anything even close to the original. Right now it makes more sense to use what most people already have as far as truck mods. Such as the FLB, FLD and the Pete 389. Guess we just make due till more mod trucks are in common use.

Wow, I haven't seen a Leeway Truck in so long I forgot about them. Yeah, that looks correct.
Too bad no one Brings these trucks to steam, paint schemes are noice don't get me wrong. I just wish they would bring the R and U model Macks, the White Freightliners and old international Harvester (Corn Binders as they were known back in the day)
