He did. He added the elves of Rivendell. The elves of Rivendell were present at the Battle of the Last Alliance along with Elrond. I think the other elves were there too.(The elves of Rivendell are also known as the Noldor, like the ones you saw in the first film where they wore golden armour, had golden shields and helmets, and those two handed swords that were curved a bit)
