Every space survival colony game there is this little pod that drops and the colonist come out, I thought with the escape pod start of this game I'd play around with that concept and make a jump capable version that could get people around while looking like a drop pod.

The Jump pod is 1 of 2 varients of this ship (left in photo).

It also works great as a short range orbital hopper ship or just a inexpensive shuttle or escape pod.

Lots of cargo space a constructor good power reserves and 2 fridges make it pretty solid for working out of and short trips as well as a armor rack for swapping gear or heading to the next star system over and making a base there.
