Defiant - Salvage Ship

Description
Defiant is a ship built from salvage, for salvage.

It won't win any beauty competitions but Defiant is built for purpose. Whether you need to quickly catch some floating debris with the ship's rear salvage hangar or whether you need to grind up the remains of a long abandoned space station with the three extendable grinders at the front, Defiant has the tools you need.

With a powerful cluster of ion thrusters including an immense forward thruster salvaged from an ancient battleship, Defiant has excellent acceleration allowing it to quickly out run any hostiles. Along with this, the ship has a large array of gyroscopes giving it extremely fast turning speed. This coupled with the thrusters and it's long, thin, shape allows it to evade any enemies with ease as well as positioning itself to grind or capture salvage.

Defiant is not a ship made for combat, but precaution is always necessary. If evasion isn't working out or you need to defending against boarding, the ship is equipped with four automatic or manually controllable miniguns which while small, can definitely hold their own.

The interior of the ship is basic yet functional. With a lot fitted into a compact space, the ship is practical and cozy. Each area has it's own lighting colour thanks to years of salvaging work taking bulbs from a variety of sources. The entire ship also has air vents in each section allowing you to breathe easy while salvaging.

Seperated into three areas:
- Bridge (yellow lighting)
- Cargo (green lighting)
- Salvage (red lighting)

The bridge contains a pilot seat viewing a large window with an array of cameras giving better views along with two passenger seats and some buttons for controlling the pistons and grinders.

Cargo contains a host of containers all connected by conveyor along with two oxygen tanks and an oxygen generator to ensure you can survive long salvaging trips. There is also an assembler which allows you to break down and repurpose any salvage you encounter as well as making any components necessary to fix the ship.

Finally, salvage is a small space with some buttons and containers, along with hangar doors and an ejector. This room can be controlled from itself or from the bridge, and coupled with the ships excellent handling, will allow you to capture any interesting salvage you come across for analysis, looting, and breaking down.

The ship has a camera and light beneath to help with landing or connecting to stations, along with three bright headlamps on the front. These three headlamps are red, green, and blue, again thanks to years of salvage across a variety of sources.

While the ship mostly runs on some old mining colony nuclear reactors, there are also two solar panels attached to the bottom of the ship connected to three batteries for emergencies. While not the most useful of solar panel positions, simply tilt the ship so the base faces the sun while working on salvage, and build up some power for a rainy day.

The ship is dirty, scratched, old, and built from a lot of different pieces but she's reliable and defiant, and if you have a need for salvaging, look no further.
