Description
TL;DR- i added a mod to automate a rank renaming based on nTex rank icons mod.
private->private first class->lance corporal->corporal->sergeant->staff sergeant->gunnery sergeant->first sergeant->sergeant major
(obviously, it's a bit wonky because there's no single chevron/arc icon, nor sgt maj. but, whatever. it's close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades)

The nTex rank icons (not nTex 2...doesn't work well with LWperkpack), i believe is the only attempt so far to replace the vanilla rank icons. Do correct me if i'm wrong.
The rookie doesn't have an icon, and that's fine. Recruits in the armed forces of the world typically don't have anything resembling a chevron anyways.

My end goal is to update this to the point where i have my own icons to better match Lance Corporal and Sergeant Major. That would be cool, but it'll take a long time

sadly, due to the number of critical bugs, i have unsubscribed from LWleaderpack, and will not be attempting to integrate officer ranks and/or icons for the foreseeable future. It's got 125k subscribers, so if alot of folk say the AWC slot for training doesn't get stuck then i'll reconsider. maybe.

*scratches head* i'm so totally confused, and demoralized. i have no idea not only how to go about fixing this issue, and also absolutely no idea why the log says it can't find my file, even when i play non-WOTC, yet i see my ranks working when try one of my save games.

I can't even find my ini file(s) that i'd tweaked anywhere. *mind blown* what the hell did they do? lulz

okay, so it has an effect on everything. must mean they added a new *.ini file that needs overwriting. it's great the icons still work, since that's above my paygrade.
I'll look into a fix once i've had some sleep.

i'm glad you enjoy my mod uhm...i haven't played in a very long time. i'm guessing, Sursion, that your problem resides solely with any TLP special characters. But, i'm loading up the game and will see what's up. It's such a simple and easy tweak, i'm sure the solution is also.

Doesn't work with TLP. The icons are showing up, but old ranks are still there.

oh yeah, i'd love to learn how to make my own nTex like icon package...i mean, he created it from a package specifically created to help us make such.

Except i suck at coding so lol

Gotcha. It was just my own nitpickiness from experience in such things. The average person won't really mind so I guess it doesn't matter too much. I would love an option to change those, though I doubt it's all that easy so thank you anyway.

oh. i picked for aesthetic reasons only. i have a brutal cold at the moment so i couldn't begin to figure out basic math. i'll get back to you soon. i'm sure it was an arbitrary choice based on lacking your sort of experience or knowledge.

my first cloudy response would be: probably chosen to match up with the non-marine rank mod

I know this is rather late but why 1st Sergeant and Sergeant Major instead of Master Sergeant and Master Gunnery Sergeant? Both 1st Sergeant and Sergeant major are administration, they don't do anything combat-focused.
