Description
Object: Former Heckler & Koch USP-S .45 - "HR-5240"

Description: Weapon (standard XTF unit sidearm) dropped during strategic withdrawal from extra-dimensional forward post, during first contact with "Shadowforms" - nomenclature given from Sgt. Kinneger's first-hand account of situation. Forward post overrun, 3 personnel with majority of research and logistics equipment missing, presumed deceased/destroyed.
Weapon recovered in current state (HR-5240) from return entry through breach, found 3m from entry point; all signs of forward post gone, double checks on co-ordinates confirm same location, no other traces of human interaction noted.
HR-5240 appears to have been 'edited' by unknown means, majority of extremities have converted to a translucent crystalline structure, a type of exoskeletal organic(?) reinforcing has formed over the fragile shell and what seems to be graphical warning, depicting a three-eyed humanoid female sprouting an invasive biomechanical parasite has appeared in an apparent polished metal finish.
(Psi-Ops has been notified of the situation and all projection tests have been suspended pending further intel.)
Spectographic analysis of HR-5240's material makeup have returned inconclusive, disassembly has not yielded any new information, weapon is functional as in original state.
HR-5240 emits no heat or radiation, but a glow is noticeable through crystalline structure and exoskeletal shrouding.

Classification: ASSET-3. HR-5240 appears inert and poses no immediate risk to operator. Field testing advised. Cleared for use by SF-DOD operatives with GIGER clearance.
