Yeah, I debated back and forth about Zone 5's tiles for a while, but I didn't like the way it came out with anything other than solid black for the floor. The game's shading didn't really fit the theme I was going for and looked kinda strange.
My original inspiration was Moonside from Earthbound, but now it looks more like an old 80's computer game of some sort, so I'm leaning more toward that theme now, since it fits the electric theme of the original.
My current plan is to change the traps and enemies shadow sprites to be more visible in a future update by either adding outlines or changing the color of the shadows to something not-quite-black to stand out a bit more, I'll dabble around a bit and see which works best.
However, if there's one criticism I should point out, it's the design choice for the Zone 5 tiles. The fact that their pure black makes it difficult to see enemies while whering the Sunglasses or the Ring of Shadows, and somtimes, I would step on an already-open pitfall trap without knowing it because they're masked by the black color. I would recommend redesigning the Zone 5 tiles to make them stand out more, but if you can't change them because you're trying to reference a particular game, then I understand. At least, make them more detailed.
Also, yeah, I just got to the Conductor for the first time and noticed that, too, haha. Another thing for the checklist!
