Constructor 2017 Guide and Information
By Palhum
Prior to Patch 4 and being aware of the 'P' key, I struggled to play this game so I wrote this guide to help others who are struggling, as it is a fun game when you can play it!

Basic Walkthrough
The computer works fast even on Easy difficulty so use the ‘P’ key to pause the game while you think, look, etc.

1a: Build Lumber Yard to get access to other buildings.
1b: Buy an estate and build about 6 x L1 homes. Have 1 home produce L1 Tenants (Slobs), have 2 or 3 produce Workers (Slobs), have 2 or 3 produce Rent (income) (Greasers).
1c: Have at least one each of the three types of home in order to acheive Level 2.
1d: Upgrade the Bathroom in each home as they are built to prevent an infestation of bugs which can be a pain to get rid of!
1e: Upgrade the Bedrooms for homes producing Workers or Tenants etc so that they are produced quicker.
1f: Move spare workers onto enemy building plots if you want to stop them building.
As you have more spare workers, max out you Worker gangs; to do this click on a Foreman.

2a: Build a Gadget Factory, produce Trees, most tenants will ask for them.
2b: Put a tree on each plot. Build a cheap fence for each. Enemies have to destry fences completely before they can take over the property, this should give you time to get to the attacker and sort him out!
2c: Create a Repairman (from 3 spare Workers) and ensure to place one on each estate. Set them to automatic and they will stay on the estate and keep all properties maintaned.

3a: Create a spare Foreman (from 4 spare Workers) to go and take over enemy properties or to damage fences. Injured characters will run back to your HQ; they will can only be healed in a Hospital. One winning strategy is to concentrate on useing to constantly attack anything opponents try to build.
3b: Produce computers in the Gadget Factory and then install a computer or 2 in homes to enable the production of the next level tenant. E.g. a computer in a Slobs (level 1) home will enable them to produce level 2 type tenants.

4a: Once you have at least 3 higher level tenants buy a new estate and build one of each type of the next level house. Then follow a similar pattern as before; get a repairman, upgrade some rooms, plant 2 trees etc.

5a: Maintain the a winning strategy by react to Complaints quickly, pay your Tax when it is due, aim to create Mobsters (L3 required) to really attack the enemy!
Gameplay and tips
• Keep an eye on the Mini Map for red dots on your estates, which may indicate an attack. Attack them immediately to scare them off.
• Swap individual workers in gangs to ensure a fast moving and efficient group.
• Staff can be healed quickly when they visit a hospital.
• Essential buildings apart from homes are: All 4 resource factories, Gadget Factory, Mob HQ, Hospital. You may need a Police Station.
• Level 2 tenants can also provide Police Cadets. Police officers can eb paid to patrol estates and will attempt any badies they see.
• Level 3 tenants can also provide Bribes to the Mob. Each Bribe produced allows for 1 killing. Store up Bribes so you can use them to hire Mobsters to take out the enemy.
• There are many fence types, make sure you build the one tenants are happy with. There are a few variations, but simply: L1 and L2 green hedges, L3 white picket fence, L4 an L5 black iron railings.
• Add a subway to every estate (only 1 allowed) as they permit instant travel from one to another.
• With the harder settings, you seem to have less income; I done know of any other differences.
• Injure enemy staff to the point they have very little health if they do not have a hospital. They will move very slowly and the action only costs a Mob Bribe if they are killed.
• Workers take a bit longer than Tenants to produce.
• If you have not played Constructor before, play the Tutorial, but it only covers the basics and there is no Manual.
• Need to maintain 90% occupancy of estates to keep Council happy. If the Council is not happy, the game can end abruptly!
• The bigger the area of the estate, the greater the income and happiness.
• Workers can be used to attack enemy. Useful as a delay tactic but mobster with a machinegun is much more effective!
• You can build on any purchased estate including estates which opositions have purchased.
• Move a tenant in immediately or else eyou'll get an Infectation (which may be the purpose if building on an opositions estate!)
• Do not build a home unless you have a tenant available in your HQ.
• Install Computers to produce one tenant level higher.
• Resource factories (Lumber, Concrete, Brick, Steel) hold a maximum of 25 stock. This can be doubled by upgrading the factory.
• Every home plot will need one or two trees.
• You can convert White Marks into money.
• Complete any Council Mission as soon as possible or risk losing the game!
• Tenants have a certain length of life (higher level tenants live longer) so always have one being produced.
• In the HQ, the maximum tenants you can have spare is 10 of each level, make sure you have at least one to replace any deaths.
• Use Manual Repair of a home to remove an infestation.
• Cockroach’s and Zombies can be killed by attacking them with Workers or Mobsters.
• Zombies may be arrested and taken to the police station or Prison.
• Review the Player Guide to see what Undesirables can do.
Beat the Opposition (cheat?)
Move a Worker onto an enemy plot to halt the building. It will waste enemy Foremen / Workers and the plot will eventually blow up. So, at the very start of the game have about 3 homes producing spare Workers. Later you may only need 1 producer.

Create a spare Foreman to take over enemy buildings. Sell any homes taken over, blow up any resource factories. At least damage a small part of enemy home fences to make tenants complain.
Aim to get a couple of Mobsters to kill enemy Foremen.
Tenants
Tenants can produce further tenants of their level. There are two types of tenants at each level. Each type of tenant has their own characteristics. The length of life and rent income from tenants increases with level increases.

Level Type Min Rent Min Needs Produces:
1 Slob 180 Tree, fence. Workers
1 Greaser 240 Tree, fence.
2 Punk 250 Tree, fence when complain only. Police cadets
2 Student 370 Tree, green fence.
3 Nerd 400 2 trees, picket fence. Mob bribes
3 Major 600 2 trees, picket fence.

5 Upper Class 980 2 trees, garden furniture, rose arbour, iron fence.

Buildings
Click on what you want to build place it and call a Worker gang to build it. The speed of the build will depend upon the size of the gang and their experience.
Resources: Place your Worker gangs in these buildings to produce materials to build. Lumber Yard, Cement Yard, Brick Factory, Steel Factory.
Homes: Build homes for tenants to produce an income and people (tenants, workers etc). Build at least 1 of each type for the next level to become available. Special Homes: Use for achievements and to complete all building types. L5 tenants to produce plans. Special homes can only have L5 tenants, they cannot produce people only rent. You must build one before plans are available for the next one. Welsh Cottage, Gothic Church, Pub, Russian, Japanese, Dutch, Pyramid.

Room upgrades:
Bedroom: Increase production rate.
Bathroom: Upgrade the bathroom one level to prevent cockroach infestation.
Lounge: I can’t see what this upgrade does?
Kitchen: Increase the tenants’ lifespan.
Gadgets
Gadgets are produced by your workers in the Gadget Factory. Select them to place on an estate or to place in a home go into the home and select / pay for the item in the gadget icon, the tenant will then collect and install the item immediately. You will always need (in order):
• Trees ($10) to make all level tenants happy.
• Subway Site ($100) to transport staff instantly.
• Computer ($100) to allow tenants to produce one level tenant higher.
• Garden Furniture to make higher level tenants happy.
• Rose Arbour ($400) to make higher level tenant happy.
• Small Shed ($500) to make Professor tenant happy.
If you place tenants in inappropriate site you will need other products to keep them happy.
Mobsters
Mobsters are available at level 3. You receive 1 Mobster when you build the Mob HQ you can produce more by converting Workers at your HQ. Have tenants produce Bribes to increase the number of kills you can do.
You can upgrade their weapon as they increase their kill tally: Starts with a knife, Pistol $5k, Shotgun $10, Machine Gun $15, Minigun $20, Laser gun $25. Upgraded weapons cause more damage.

To pay Tax, click on the money figure at the top, if tax is due it will be flashing. Once in the Bankers screen there is an icon, bottom right, which will pay the bill. You cant pay while the game is paused.
