GME More Base Trades

Description
My third published mod.


Version 1.1

Fixed an issue that comes later in the game when the galactic community establishes the Galactic Market. Something i didn't know would happen was that the added resources won't show up on the new market. But, if you left the community you had them available again, which means that there is a difference between the galactic market and the local market. I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out what i could do and for now this is a patch that adds a new monthly check for an hidden event to fire slowly adding missing resources from the market one month at a time. I hope to learn more about events and see if i can create something a little more polished in the future, but this should fix any issues for now. (This was my second attempt at a fix, the first was altering a massive amount of vanilla events, which would create compatibility issues, so that lead me to this rough patch for now.) Thanks!


This mod further expands the base game resources available for trade, both with other players and with the market as a whole. It kind of makes sense that the market would sell unity and research and influence.


This mod allows the trading of the following resources:

Physics Research
Society Research
Engineering Research
Unity
Influence


This mod also keeps the tradable resources from my other mod Galactic Market Expansion:

Nanites
Minor Artifacts
Astral Threads

This mod doesn't have any files for trading more resources from any mods, as i plan on the main GME mod to handle mod trading. This means that this only effects base game resource trades in the base game.


I didn't want to add advanced logic or menace from the self-crisis resources, as those really don't make sense to be sold openly. Perhaps if i develop some new mod in the future where i could restrict trading those resources with other self-crises empires? But, that's a long ways away if i ever actually choose to pursue that course.


Last but not least, if you don't play with any other mods that add more resources, you could use this mod stand alone, without GME. But, if you use any mods that do add more resources to the game and GME supports them, i would recommend downloading that and loading it above this mod. This mod makes changes to the following base game files:

00_strategic_resources.txt


I have learned that the entire file needs to be changed if you make any changes to the vanilla resources, so if any other mod makes changes to vanilla resources on this file they won't be compatible.


I have also spent some time fixing missing icons within the galactic trading screen. Previously several icons would simply show up as question marks. Not game breaking and still allowed the game to function, but i would rather see the resources, so i had to create them and add them in. Now, i suck at textures and don't understand any of it, but i think i did at least a passable job at it. If somebody can do a better job just let me know, i will gladly switch them all out for better quality texture jobs.

Let me know if you feel like buying and selling any of these resources feels out of balance, if so i can make slight adjustments to make them better.

Yoooo, I've been looking for this for ages, ever since trade all resources broke, hope this still works :D :steamthumbsup:

@ tzverg - I've only ran it with UI Overhaul Dynamic, so i can't say for certain it will work without it, or another UI mod, i did one test where i ran my other mod GME without the UI Overhaul Dynamic mod, and some of the additional resources displayed pink error banners in places in the market screen. If you knew where to click trading worked just fine, just kind of annoying. I am not a professional modder so i don't know what was causing those issues, but when i ran the mod with UI Overhaul Dynamic i didn't have those issues.

I am assuming the same thing might happen here with the additional market options might display some annoying error banners on you if you run this without. But it should still work. Test it out if you want and let me know, it may be some settings that i play with in game that was causing my errors, or something else on my end. You never know tell you try.

Is UI Overhaul Dynamic is a hard requirement?
