I get why people like it less than the other Mafia games, as it's very dissimilar. It's more of a Grand Theft Auto than anything else.
The mission are repetitive indeed, and the enemy NPC's are basically walking practice dummies, but it is what it is - 50+ hours of casual fun.
Loved the setting, rarely have I seen a city so well reproduced. The story itself, the diverse cast of side characters and backgrounds, and the music, were all excellent.
I loved it, might not be everyone's cup of tea but I've enjoyed it just as much as I've enjoyed GTA games back in the day.
