Negro (from Spanish negro "black (color)") is the main name for people of the Negroid race in Russian. In addition, in Russia and the CIS countries, especially dark-skinned mulattos are also called negroes, although in regions with compact settlements of dark-skinned people (for example, in Latin America and South Africa), a clear distinction is made between them.
