Outer Wilds is an exploration game set in space where you get to explore planets and find out the secrets within them. As far as graphics go I believe this is the games weakest point but only because the rest of the game is so great. Planets and their structures look great almost having a cartoony look to them. This really takes your mind of the fact that your stuck in a time loop, where you are powerless to stop it. You could probably get all that from the trailer though, so how does it play? Well Reibeck I have good news even messing around on planets with the gravity and circumnavigating them with your jetpack or soaring around black holes, mind you not making real progress is still fun at least for me. Honestly I must have spent hours just flying around brittle hollow, looking around the place. But what really made me want to keep playing this game was discovering all the secrets that the world had to offer, there are so many secrets to unravel but never overwhelm you. Telling you them wouldn't just be a disservice to the game but to anyone reading this, it felt like everywhere I went I would find some kind of knowledge to help piece together the world. Which is why when not making actual progress in beating the game I was still happy as my perspective of the world grew. Only bad news is the only thing left to explore after beating the game is your wallet so you can scrounge together another £20 for the dlc. In all seriousness once in a Attlerock I did experience a bit of what could only be called janky-ness with either my ship or player character, though maybe the pilot is to blame (me). And how could we not talk about the sound design, the running water of the waterfall in Timber Hearth, the sand flowing on the Ember Twins, the flames heard on the Sun Station, I could honestly go on. But what really makes you want to explore isn't just the mysteries of the world because this game has one of if not the best sound track ever constructed by man. It can be playful like your swimming with dolphins of the coast of Bal Harbour or eerie like you're exploring an ancient pharoahs tomb that has been cursed for hundreds of years. It never failed to immerse me into the world and when I discovered what happened to the Nomai I was actually sad and felt for what had happened but also I have never been happier, just whistling along with Esker is all a guy needs sometimes to forget the in-game taragedies. Even now as I write this I am listening to the game's sound track, The Ash Twin Project 3:44, because that's how good it is. After all that if you can really look me dead in the eyes and say you won't play this game I'm gonna come over there and kick you in the balls - me just now 2024. So good luck Hearthian.
