honestly this game is just anthem without the jetpacks and a mix of destiny/monster hunter (i think). only have played for an hour or so and the game play is very stale and super easy, like dumb easy for the first playthrough. the abilities and skills and (im just gonna call them warframes) the descendants are cool but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i almost fell asleep 1 1/2 hours in. a snoozefest. (edited) the story is way to fast along with the missions. 4 new characters got introduced and i don't even know when. (i may have lied, games somewhat enjoyable after the first character unlock) its not bad

this game is a banger and tons of fun even without friends, play it.

Summary/Pros-
An absolutely banger of a game, everything including combat, exploration, skills, bosses is a work of art. You can really tell love was put into this game and you feel the emotion that characters in this desolate sea portray, it did pull on my heart strings for a sec i wont lie. The environment's are beautiful with good layouts throughout each level so none feel the same.

Cons/Compaints -
Only complaint i found myself giving throughout the game was the abyssal plains area, f u c k that area. The only section where it felt like i needed to run past the 21 ft towering crabs with op lasers, it was brutal and i do think they should be toned down a bit or just remove like 1 or 2. Their detection is crazy leading you getting chased by all 3 of em. This might be a bit nit-picky but i feel as if every enemy in this game has a grab, which is understandable cause the game doesn't want you hiding in your shell 24/7, but having it so most of the early game enemies and bosses have INSTA-kill grabs (grabs come out decently fast as well) does make you feel like the devs wanted to toss you around like a salad and then unwillingly come back for a second serving.

Those few qualms are overshadowed by the pure dopamine this game gives you, yes the game has it's problems like everything else, but i'd highly recommend giving this shellslike a shot. Excited for updates to come and even possibly dlc?

a well-crafted masterpiece, if you liked the first Hades this is a must-have. For early access the amount of content and quality is mind-blowing. SuperGiant is the goat and so mote it be! (DEATH TO CHRONOS!!!!!!)

chads that reached the unmoored world and witnessed the end of the cycle know how fantastic this game is, sad how much review bombing this game has received. obviously there's issues and bugs, but developers absolutely killed it 9.5/10 just wait till they update it :)

Edited: After playing the game more and more i am realizing more outlying issues and all around nuisances in this game, such as dragons-plague. By far one of the most unforgiving and harsh mechanic introduced and honestly it's not needed and is dumb. i wouldn't blame anyone if they quit or stopped playing cause they had to spend hours trying to revive all the essential npcs. Even with the Eternal Wakestone the plague can happen multiple times while the wakestone, given is nice (bit of a pain to get for it to be one use) is ONE TIME USE. My 2nd playthrough around both main cities suffered from it and it sucks

idk if devs read these but please consider changing or straight removing the dragons-plague mechanic, or at least make it so it doesn't kill deadass everyone. also the pawns behaviour and them listening to commands is atrocious and buggy af please fix them they are a big headache. almost seems like the game is pushing you to not use pawns lol.

Game is still great tho, gonna have to drop my review down to 8/10 along with other issues.

very solid game with sleek movement, good combat, and a nice soundtrack surprisingly. obviously it is only 20 mins long but excited to see what they'll do. (press L for "LMAO")
